He left after seeing the toliet discussions. (thx dip ;) )

So Juliana, mabrook girl! If Amman keeps the passport, they are intending to put the visa in it. If they didn't want it for a week or two, they would not have kept it.

Jackie (F)

Thanks everyone! I jus tnow woke up, LOL, after I finally stopped calling people my parents (who requested NO missle of the night calls) called me at 4am LOL! And they talked to me for an hour :) My mom has been notoriously so anti-Ammar it's not even funny, so I was really surprised.

Bigman-- You have received a lot of really good advice from people who know and understand Cairo in your other thread. My husband and I knew each other for only 5.5 months before we got married, although we have very different situations than you-- we met in person, through work, and the actual reason we got married so SOON (which I rarely admit to anyone but will now for you, feel special LOL) is because we learned it will take FOREVER to get him here and were advised that getting married and doing a K3 is better than K1. We planned to get married in July 2006, after we had known each other for a YEAR and were SURE. I was SURE after 2 months, Ammar was sure after 2 months.. but... then again, time can be a really good thing. Marriage isn't something to jump into, especially if you haven't met or have not met the person very often. I hadn't met him that often, but then again I am divorced and I had a set of criteria I was looking at when I was evaluating him-- and I was ready to cut and run no matter how painful it was, because divorce is not something to play around with. You must also consider-- Ammar and I have known each other for nearly 2 years by this point. Our visits total only 114 days or somehting like that (ha! interview practicing! heee!), but ther are 5 of them. The government was more than well aware of the fact of him and I publishing articles together, etc-- I sent these things in-- amongst other things I'd rather not really discuss. So! Take the advice of those who know about Cairo. I know NOTHING about Cairo and am not afriad to admit that!! I also know NOTHING about Amman actually-- I know only what I have experienced and only what I have read here. My advice is to wait and listen to those who know your embassy and know better the type of situation you are going through. A lot of great couples I know met online and knew each other for a short time before they were married-- and some are celebrating their 10th anniversaries with 3 kids and whatnot. Please don't disregard the advice of those on this board who have already responded to you-- they have a lot of experience and a lot of sense of how your emabasssy works. It may not be the answer you want to hear-- like it wasn't the answer *I* wanted to hear when I heard Amman was soooo slllloooooowwww-- but it's the right answer a lot of the time, and you just have to accept it and move on. Believe me, it will make your life easier to focus on what is rather than what "can be."

Mybackpages-- well he's already been cleared according to the embassy-- I made him ask LOL!

And now? On to page TWO of this thread! LOL! I just did fast reply because I knew I would forget something.

LOLOL!

Yeah, those who missed it missed my awesome statement about how you can tell the difference between wood and bone by putting it in your mouth-- wood sticks to your tongue, bones-- no matter human or not-- won't. And then of course you have all the awesome jokes you can make about wood and bones.

You all seemed so sure about how this would turn out! I wasn't sure at all. And sure enough, they only asked the one basic question regarding what I knew was the red flag of our marriage.. I had addressed it in the petition, but you know? It was still a red flag that really only time could overcome. We were hoping that they would realize it was past for us, and I guess they did... because it is not their responsibility to be the moral police as so many here have mentioned-- but merely to judge the validity of the marriage, not the state nor circumstances of it.

I still think it's awesome he had to show no proof LOL!

My husband went back home and stopped at the mosque on the way, and prayed for nearly two hours. I think he was excited :) he went home and prayed again, and told me he accidentally fell asleep in sujood making dua'a after his prayer. he had 45 minutes of sleep this morning before his interview, and he had 2 or 1 hour of sleep, depending on the night, for 4 nights before. He is so relieved.

Now I have to clean! He is a neat freak, ironing socks and underwear and clenaing things with Q-tips, so I'll actually have to do a good job! none of that cleaning the closet via tossing the stuff in a back room... which I did last month... and the months before...

Not cleaning! Ha!

instead, I got this:

maternity.jpg

Behold! the first 100% irrational purchase of the post-interview time. It's is a maternity sweater from oldnavy.com.

Yes, I am not pregnant. Yes, he is not here. But look! At the belt! And the sweater! he wanted to go baby bedding shopping when I was there in January, so I'm not off the mark in comparison of the two of us :) There were lots of talk of "sagheers" today, and much excited chatter about "sleep," "gardening," and "food" -- specifically CHICKEN.

Because in the end, he is still a man :)
