Its surprising we haven't heard more about this... I was born in the 90's and my birth cerificate is hand written just like this. As far as I'm aware, they are still handwriting birth certificates in the UK today. Strange.

I would say that they likely lost the document. To my knowledge, my husband's BC was also handwritten, as they usually are, and there were no problems. Ensure that it is a long form version. You could provide a sternly worded letter, stating that you will provide a new copy but that since you are BRITISH, the document is already in English (duh!).

No, I don't know. How exactly do you know? Some kind of insider info? I didn't choose them because I actually thought they were angels from heaven, speaking the truth and nothing but the truth, I just figured they would probably do better than me considering they are a translation service. Any translation service would have been fine.

It's more likely that we will never know what the reason was. USCIS has no rhyme or reason based on my dealings with them. They asked for a translation, therefore that's what they got, plain and simply.

Very strange, and a waste of time. I hope yours is accepted without any issues. If you read my thread you will see that USCIS did accept the handwritten version during the K1 process. We are, once again assuming it was actually a translation they wanted and that they hadn't just lost it. If it was lost, it might be a good idea for them to send something requesting something a bit more in line with a request for a missing document, like for example "We did not find a birth certificate in your package", rather than what they sent which was along the lines of "Please send a translation". USCIS morons.

Hello Everyone,

 

I need your help please. we submitted the I-765 form along with the I-485 and after waiting for 112 days we received an e-mail stating that a request for initial evidence was mailed. so my question is it true the clock rest to 0 because the RFIE? I mean do we have to wait another 90 days after we submit the requested evidence? did anyone experienced this? how long after submitting the RFIE they received the EAD?
