No tough guys here, just someone who isn't going to take any ####### from liberals.  You are using a tragedy to push your gun control agenda and you are going to get called out for it.

You constantly attack and try to belittle people on here for having different views.  Don't you?

You could actually stick to the topic of the thread, which isn't gun control, but you don't.  Then you complain when people push back.

At least it gets us to what he did, not how he did it.

Definition of MDL.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Looking at the article above, it is clear he used a gun to brutally murder 26 people. He is just another one is a list of terrorists who use guns in this manner. America is the only first world country where these incidents have become common news.

In addition, it's not a spin. 26 people had have all their rights denied to them as of Sunday.

Correction : he clearly used a military style weapon with a projectile speed 3x that of a handgun and vastly superior the reloading speed and several clips of ammo which he exhausted. It would still he a tragedy had he entered with a handgun, but some of those souls would be alive.

I agree.  Someone with no respect for human life used a gun to take the lives of so many.  That is a tragedy, to be sure.  But like we started out talking about early on in this thread, WHY is it more prevalent today?  Or is it?  (There were a lot of guns and a lot of crazy people in the US 30-50 years ago) Do we just hear about it more than we did when we were kids?  Or is it actually happening more?  I happen to think that hearing about, the media going on and on and on for days about it certainly puts the idea into other wacko’s heads... I like the idea of not sensationalizing the crime, not mentioning the name of the shooter.

You can say their rights were taken away, or denied, but that is misleading.  If that were the case, they would have a civil case to argue in court.  No, they were murdered.  Senselessly.  By someone who has no respect for the lives of those around him.  That is a mental issue, plain and simple.  I don’t care if he used a gun, a tank, a RPG, or a claw hammer.  Something was not right in his head for him to do what he did.

Then stop baiting people with your gun control arguments in a thread that has a topic that isn't about gun control.  If you think it is about gun control, then 2nd amendment supporters have a right to argue with you.

The .223 cal or 5.56 mm round you are referring to IS about 2-3 times greater of a muzzle velocity of the average handgun.  But what does that have to do with anything in this topic?  (And the gun he used is NOT a military style weapon, BTW.)

ETA: Some would have lived?  No truth to that at all.  He may have killed more, actually.  That is entirely up to the skill of the shooter and the confines in which he is shooting.

You forgot to mention the most important issue.

It was Black.

That would have been the only thing you would have got correct.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

totally agree. but this also needs to be applied to attacks like the recent one in ny, where the guy was so proud of his actions.

So, the weapon does play a part and makes a difference in the result, which pretty much debunks the idea that guns are nowhere near related to the gun problem we have in America.
