It's not the item, that's just a tool. But the mentality of that "human" ( I rather say animal in this particular case) is created and influenced by culture.

As an experiment, I would love to see for 12 months no mention of the attackers names in the media. I think you might see a down tick in attacks.

i would dig in to it more but normally discussions involving parenting and children gets a bit heated. i can say, you can't talk an anxious child out of anxiety when neurological/ocd type factors are at play.

Y'all can ask me any parenting questions.  I have no kids so I am an expert

I don't use facebook or twitter. I'm in my mid-30s. I used facebook in my 20s but stopped about 5-6 years ago.

I never understood the concept of Twitter. I used Facebook so my family could keep up to date about us here in America. Now I told them they can call me anytime, old school.

Agree, the problem is the media believes the society needs to know. All they do is give them their couple minutes of "fame".

Fox News host: At least the Texas shooting victims got killed in church

"I’m trying to look at some positives here, and know that those people are with the Lord now."

AARON RUPAR

During a Fox & Friends discussion of the mass shooting in a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday that claimed at least 26 lives, host Ainsley Earhardt found what she takes to be a silver lining — at least the victims of the fifth most-deadly mass shooting in modern U.S. history were gunned down in church.

Earhardt and other Fox & Friends hosts were interviewing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) when Earhardt shared the gist of a conversation she said she had with her Fox News coworkers.

gun culture?

The inanimate object that requires the action of a human being to make work?

Let's also talk about the truck culture, fertilizer culture, acid culture, knife culture, toss-off-the-building culture, mutilation culture, etc.

These all require one thing .. a human being with the intent to harm others.

A human being is the problem ... not the item selected to inflict harm.

I am talking about the gun culture that exists as a layer of American culture. It's subtle in form, but rather obvious in its manifestation.

I disagree that a human being is the problem. In our country, the problem are millions of human beings who bury their heads in the sand and pretend gun violence either doesn't exist or if it does, it's someone else's problem.

By the same token, the shooter is also with the Lord now, for he too, was in church.

Do stay focused on the problem.

This does not exist without a human being who has no moral compass and no regard for life doing the nasty deed. It was their choice ... nobody made them do it.

Blaming others is deflecting the blame ... responsibility solely belongs to the person inflicting harm.

Really??

Wow, that would be my first virtual vacation ever.

But yes, this "person" didn't have any respect for human life at all. Sad thing is there are many more, people who feel society has treated them wrong and the only way to get satisfaction is killing dozens of innocent people.

America needs to acknowledge there is a problem with disgruntled instable individuals who believe they have the right to do this and they get away with it. Literally, cause this guy had already given up on himself and was ready to die.

Yes and no.

Yes, he is responsible for what he did. No matter what his circumstances were how bad they were and how awfull his baby mommy is treating him there is no excuse. And he alone is responsible for planning this and killing those people.

No, there is also a responsibility to take for the society. And I believe that no one cares or dares to burn their fingers on this.

Everytime this happens we are all shocked, but it doesn't take long for everyone to carry on with their lives and "forget" about what happened.
