November 2017 AOS Filers

Hello everyone, 

Just joining the group! We sent AOS packet 11/17 and received our NOA1 text message last night! 

 

Super excited to get this process rolling so we can move on with life. We were K1 filers in Nov 2016, waited and waited and waited and were finally approved in July 2017 and were married Oct 21, 2017!

Our cheque was cleared on 24th of Nov, but just one as we are two applicants, hope they will clear my son's cheque tomorrow.

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've been on VJ. Busy making sure I have all of my stuff together and getting married lol. We got married on October 21st (over a month ago ) but we had to wait almost a month for our certified marriage certificate copies, and for paperwork from my parents (my dad is my joint sponsor). I'm sending out our AOS package bright and early tomorrow morning, but with processing times I might end up straddling the line of a November / December filer. I'm just very glad the paperwork is going out and is going to be out of my hands. I've been paranoid about losing a tax transcript or a signature page for almost 2 months now lol.

Hello everyone. I submitted my package last week, and it arrived Sunday evening. My husband's visa expires shortly, however, and I do not know if I will receive a NOA1 beforehand. Was anyone else in this position?

NOA hard copies received by mail today. Official receipt date was 11/13 and NOA date is 11/20

I received my paper NOA's a few days ago, they say wait a week to check USCIS but I went online and none of my 3 case numbers show up either. I also get the validation error

Heyyy we sent the AOS packet for my Husband  11/22/2017

 

We both recieved email notifications overnight last night (11/27) saying it had been recieved and to wait for the receipt I 797. When should we hear about if the packet itself was accepted? These emails said the packet was accepted but I don't want to celebrate too early if that's not the ACCEPTED we should be Waiting for?

Mailed AOS package on 11/11 .. received  text confirmation 11/21 all three NOA hard copies came in the mail on 11/24. Good luck to all!

Hello Lolo, 

Your case was accepted to be processed is what they mean and when you receive the receipt I797 (aka NOA1, first notice of action) you will receive your case numbers for Adjustment of Status (AOS), Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advanced Paroll (AP) if you sent in all three you will get three different case numbers. Your case numbers may have been in the text messages you received as well.

AOS I believe is taking about a year, Employment Authorization about 90 days and Advanced Paroll about 90 days as well for acceptance.

Yes, right now he is technically "out of status" if his travel document is expired but that is fine because he is legally allowed to be in the United States if he came on a K1 visa and is adjusting status from a K1. The NOA would be your proof that he is legal to be here while he's waiting for USCIS to adjust his status. 

My husband's I94 expired today I believe.
