No, it varies by city to city.  As in, which is your local USCIS office?

Here's a list of them all and the "average" wait time:  http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php

Yours is probably Hartford, Connecticut which the "average" wait time from filing to interview is 232 days based on the VisaJourney time lines from people in your area.

It is. But is there a timeline for ap and work permits?

Aww I'm sorry to hear that... I got one too 30 days after filing. My letter was just a very general bullshit letter asking for my husband's financial info, affidavit of support, tax returns etc.. which I included in the original package carefully organized and labelled. So frustrating!! But then it turned out he checked one wrong box on his affidavit making him look like a co sponsor which he is not. So we fixed it and I wrote a more detailed cover letter explaining his income in more detail since he doesn't have a regular job. We sent those documents in Dec 7th and still no update or notification they received everything.. but according to a supervisor we spoke to on the phone 2 weeks ago our case looks fine.

It's just so strange that some people receive a RFE response letter within a few days and others wait for up to 60 days..

Hope your RFE is gonna be an easy fix!

we are in same boat no updates yet in my case staus for rfe

Hello, Anyone received RFIE? Did your status on USCIS web ever updated after USCIS has received your response?

I received an RFIE on December 14th, and replied the next day. It was asking for my birth certificte, even though I had already included it. As of now, i haven't received any notice that they received the information I supplied, and my status on USCIS web site has not changed.

Hi guys, I've been religiously checking my case tracker on the USCIS page and nothing...still no updates. I've heard that some of you already got approved for the EAD and congrats!!

I just wanted to know if someone who's doing AOS (not thru K-1 visa) and got RFIE had any updates? I'm on that boat and it seems that although some people got RFIE they have approved their work permits already (which seems to be the ones doing the AOS thru the K-1 visa).

Good luck to everyone and congrats to the ones who got their EAD approved!
