So, I took my fiance back to the airport a couple of days ago. He was here visiting on a tourist visa. Now we're waiting for our K1 to be approved, etc...

We have been VERY fortunate in our relationship because his boss is very understanding of him coming over for two months at a time to stay here with me. He's mostly so understanding because we have a daughter together (she will be two years old in February 2018) so he will come and go. He'll stay for two months then go back from two-three months to save up money for bills, flights, and helping me when he's here. We have had to say our good byes many of times and believe me from everything I read I know how lucky we are but it never gets easier and the older our daughter gets the more she understands. It breaks my heart every time I see him go. Hell here I am trying not to tear up as I type this. This last time I managed to not cry during the good byes but as I was walking away I turned to see him leave and he was just standing there watching me and that's when the tears came. I'm heart broken and just down right depressed right now but I have to stay strong and on the brighter side our time of saying good byes will be coming to an end by this time next year. I guess my post is to just reach out. Reach out to anyone whose going through this and let them know it's ok after all at least we can all confidently say we've found true love because if this isn't true love I'm really not sure what is. Also, any helpful pointers to get through it from the ones who have already been through this and are finally together?

Thank you for sharing your story x

You are right; it never seems to get any easier to say goodbye and the waiting becomes interminable at times. The good thing is your little one will see just how much you love her daddy ( even though that is a tiny silver lining) I am also glad you fiancé has an understanding boss because although the goodbyes are hard, not seeing each other for huge stretches is very difficult. We filed in August and am hoping we are about half way through to the NOA2 but who knows! Hang in there.

It is definitely rough and the first week or two when he goes back is always the hardest. I am a 911 dispatcher so I literally work any of the 24 hours of the day and I also have a 6 year old from a previous marriage so it's pretty rough going back to basically living everyday life as a single mom but it is so worth it. I could never settle for anyone, or anything less than him. He is my absolute best friend and soul mate. I know I sound corny but the love is so strong.

Thelucybelle in our case my fiancé used an agent to help us the paper thing and submitted July 1, 2017 and he got an email that they have received the case which is the NOA1 on July 5, 2017. Until now we are waiting for the NOA2 its been more than 120 days of waiting. We are positive to receive the NOA2 hopefully this week or next or the next.

Patiently waiting. I hope to hear from July filers and those who got NOA1 and NOA 2 from July filers this year.

Have a blessed day to you all.

And I really hope you hear something soon. I'm rooting for all who have applied and are waiting for their NO2. The faster y'all get it is good news for all of us who did it after. I regret not filing in May now but at least we finally did it. Sending positive vibes your way hon!

I'm figuring it's still going to be at least another 80 days till we hear but everyday is a step closer. I've had the added wait of needing to become a citizen rather than a green card holder before I could file so we are already a year into this wait if I add the citizenship application in too. I had my oath ceremony in July and literally a week later sent the Paper work for the K1!!. I totally here you about him going and life just having to keep on going as normal. I am a single mom of 4!!! It feels like I live 2 different lives sometimes and can't wait for it just to be 1 when we are all together. Eveeything crossed for you too xxx

You brought back a lot of memories by reading your post.  I used to fall apart completely when we had to say goodbye.  I never knew when I would see him again and it was just so hard.  I would just try to jump back into work and of course keeping in contact every day with my husband.  And the good news is you will get through this.  He has been with me here now for two years.  And soon he will be there with you.  Hang in there.  It will happen.
