Must be so nice to be so rightous.... these are kids we are talking about... This whole country is made up of Immigrants legal and illegal over the last few hundred years... While it pisses me off that I have had to pay so much money to be here legally I also have a little compasion for the children who were brought here with no say in the matter and only know life in the USA...

Lets do what one poster sugested... murder them all... then we will be free of them... that will make america a much better place... full of murderers but what the hell there will be no illegals...

Who do you think picks up the difference?

If someone moves from Kansas they have to live in Mass for a year before they get in-state tuition. If an illegal comes they would get it right away. Unfair to the Mass taxpayer and their 'children'.

Well as a MASS tax payer it is my choice.... these children do not deserve to be punished for their parents actions.... if it mean they will get a education which will then allow them to get a good paying job the long term savings are worth every cent...

As a student in Maine, I had to wait a year before I qualified for in-state residency. Without in-state tuition, I could not afford to go to college. I still can't afford to attend the state university; I'm at community college. I work and I pay my taxes to the state of Maine, and I've paid my money to be allowed to live here. Why the hell should some illegal alien be subsidised by my (immigrant) tax dollars when I can't even afford to get my own education?

ETA: Once they graduate and get a job, Kez, they'll then be working illegally too. They have to become legal somehow, sometime - and if that means going back to their country of citizenship, even if they've never lived there, so be it IMHO.

I'm a Mass taxpayer too. It's not a punishment!!!! It rewards Mass residents. It doesn't reward any out-of-staters INCLUDING illegal immigrants.

With all being said, a lot of these illegal immigrants gain employment (illegally) but are also paying taxes. The only thing about it is that they can't or won't file a tax return and get their money back. People complain all the time about taxes...when you tax liability is less than $1,000 after all the deductions. Come and let's be real....How much will it truely effect your pocket if they attend school at a reduced rate? The reduced rate is not even cheap.

I'm a born US citizen and I just can't seem to understand or care to understand why people are so angry at illegals. If this country had a problem with too many LEGALS there will be comments on how to restrict their quest for success in our wonderful country. For GOD SAKES, pelple can't even VISIT the US without problems.

The Massachusetts Legislation consults with Harvard Law School all the time. For every dollar the US government spends on these kids, the government gets seven dollars back. They know what they're doing.

I do share the feeling of illegal being treated the same as those who are here and paying their income taxes. I dislike that so much. Especially when they come and try to quietly conquer English speaking world with their own tongue. However, looking at it from the economical perspective it's more feasible. Since many of them tend to do well compared to the non-illegals counterparts. They tend to work harder.

The debate of illegals taking over our jobs is a false statement. The US can hire overseas workers just the same, effectively lowering their cost of operations. If it benefit the economy, it's very favorable since it supports sustainability. Just like Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart for example, if they sold energy efficient light bulbs all the time, that means millions of people would save energy. It only take one entity to control the flow of economical stability.

The work-around they use is claiming married with 10 dependents on their w-4 to minimize their withholdings. So they under pay their taxes.

I dont agree with illegals any more than any of you..... but they are here and as the Government seems unwilling to do anything about the situation one way or the other then we have to deal with these people and their kids...

Many people who are here in Boston from Ireland are returning Home because of the fear of being caught... many have lived here for 20 + years and have businesses and own homes... it is not just a Hispanic problem it is a problem where many many people come on tourist visa/ vwp and just stay...

There are no easy solutions to fix the problem and I dont see any sort of fix in the near future...

Unless I'm mistaken, no one here has differentiated between the nationalities of illegals.

We can't grandfather in illegals...it's an unneccessary burden that all of us are forced to bear. Illegal kids grow up to be illegal adults, and if the system wasn't so forgiving as it is...then perhaps that would force the parents to think twice before illegally setting up shop here. If life wasn't so 'great' for them...ie in state fees...well then maybe more illegals would feel like the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze, if ya know what I mean. Cos after all...what in the world is the incentive to abide by the laws if illegal actions are rewarded with perks?

The incentive is low wage, and they have a lesser chance of getting into higher management. Therefore, they can work in the same position for years only reaching that position salary cap.

So you wont mind having your taxes raised to pay the cost of deporting them all..... and then having to pay the increased cost of everything you buy because the manufacturers cant find Americans to do the jobs needed at a rate they can pay without increesing the product cost... I dont think america can afford that....
