Hello,

My wife has filed for her AOS and right now we're waiting on the interview to get the GC. She has already done her biometrics for the I-485 and I-765, and has already received her EAD. However, we want to make a trip back to Taiwan in February 2018, and so we're filling out the AP application now.

In the instructions of the form under "General Instructions," there is a paragraph that states:

"Biometrics Services Appointment. After receiving your application and ensuring completeness, USCIS will inform you in writing when to go to your local USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for your biometrics services appointment. Failure to attend the biometrics services appointment may result in denial of your application."

I'm assuming that since we did the biometrics for the I-485 filing that we do not have to do this again for the AP. Is that correct?

Also, assuming I mail this out on Friday, Nov 3rd, what is the likelihood that we get the AP by February 2018. I'm seeing that the AP application is taking about 100 days to get the actual paper, so this is cutting it close.

Thanks for any help!

you can only try, since the wait is between 4 to 5 months, you might even get the interview before the ap

it's free so you can try and maybe you'll be lucky but no guarantees

you will do the biometrics, every form requires it,  if you would have done the EAD and AP at the same time, you would have had the biometrics done once for both of the forms, the i485 is separate, since the fingerprints are different than for the cards
