Can I use the letter from NVC with the document cover sheet to request for a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction in Hong Kong? Or is it necessary to go to U.S. Embassy in Manila to get a request letter?

What are the official word on what is needed. (See #2) Going around what is required only puts you at risk of an extended delay. Can you afford?

 

Here are the requirements.

 

An applicant should be prepared to present the following items:

 1.  his/her Hong Kong Identity Card or valid travel document;
 2.   the original and a photocopy (for each applicant) of the letter from NVC which contains his/her name and the checklist of documents necessary for obtaining a visa (the one that references the need for police certificates);
 3.  the original and photocopy of a document proving his/her relationship with the principal applicant for the visa if item #2 does not contain the applicant's name;

4.  the processing fee of HK $210 per person - payment via cash, Octopus cards or checks payable to "The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region."

Thank you. I have all of those.  I was just not sure if NVC letter is enough.  I read before here that someone went to U.S Embassy to get a request letter.

Some country's require "the letter" and some use the Embassy Letter but others go to the Embassy for that country's required letter. HK follows a different set if requirements. Try and not over think this process. Follow the official requirements.
