question regarding K-1 visa

i collect my passport with immigration packet from us.travel.docs servies and the dude told me i must have to pay online 220 $ green card fee before depart to USA and am unable to pay right now because when i put my DOS and A number in it, the USCIS online system said if you recently received your visa then wait 5 days to update us your case on website and i wanna travel before 5 days because my NOA-2 will b expire 

and i also read somewhere that k-1 visa holder did not have to pay that fee 

please confirm if you have any info about it

K-1 holders do not pay nor apply for a green card before arriving in the US and getting married with the petitioner. Upon marriage, the K-1 visa holder will apply for adjustment of status, which will result in a 2-year conditional green card. AOS costs $1140 + $85 biometrics fee. EAD and AP fees are waived if you file them together with your AOS. Are you sure the person is not trying to scam you?

Not scam i think because the letter comes with passport said the same check in attachment

This is interesting. I never heard we need to pay anything like this. Even I am k1 holder and need not pay until I filed for AOS.

You didn't get letter like this whit your visa passport,yellow sealed packet for immigration officer ?

The letter you posted is probably a generic letter that is geared towards other immigrant visa types. And $220 is not the correct green card fee for a K-1 holder anyways.

No i did not received such letter. I am here since July and I just paid for my AOS which i recently filed. The exact amount as mentioned by @KULtoATL

K-1 visa holders do not have to pay the $220 fee.  It is only for immigrant visas.....

That letter does not apply to you. The person giving it to you must have been confused about your visa category. You can disregard the letter.

I think you have been sent this in error. This is not for the K1 non-immigrant visa. I never received such letter. You will have to adjust status to get your green card after marriage, which comes at a significantly higher cost as mentioned above ^

The expiration date is printed on the visa itself.  You must enter the US before that date.

The Visa expires, not the NOA2.  The visa comes a few steps after the NOA2.  Can you be more specific with your question?  Do you mean does the interview have to take place within a certain timeframe after the NOA2?

Thanks for your information. My fiancé has not had the interview yet. My NOA2 will expire on 2/10/18. We hope to schedule the interview before December and hopefully he gets approved. I think the visa has 6 months to be expired from the date that it is issued because he can't come before 2/10 due to his job. That is the reason I ask to make sure that we get covered from the visa issued date and not the NOA2.
