I noticed my case was updated on the new site last night. We got our NOA2 approved June 27th. Any idea on 1) How long it'll take for NVC to receive it and 2) what's the best guesstimate for how long to get a mnl number?

The beneficiary country is Philippines if that makes a difference...

We received our RFE by regular mail, no signature required.

PD : NOV 17th Nebraska

Both old & new website shows RFE letter sent: June 1st

Received RFE letter by mail on: June 13th

Envelope shows postmark dated: June 4th

RFE letter is dated: June 6th

Returned Large marriage certificate (with original letter) to USCIS in envelope provided, by regular mail on Friday June 29th. We also had to apply to the Government for correct marriage certificate. There was a further delay because we were also on vacation in the USA, returned back to Canada June 28th.

No news yet on both websites on whether marriage certificate received  :( (checked twice already today).

Also one question for anyone. When updating your timeline when you update the section "I-130 RFE Sent :" , do you indicate the date you mailed back the RFE to USCIS or the date USCIS indicates received the RFE? Just wanted to clarify so it is as accurate information for everyone. Again thank you to everyone for any comments. :)

We didn't send a copy of our marriage certificate , we only sent the translated one !! does that mean a RFE ? :/

Unfortunately, yes I think it does mean a RFE. Obviously USCIS would make this decision but if you look at the "instructions" for the form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, on the bottom of page 3 of 12 it says, "Translations. If you submit a document with information in a foreign language, you must also submit a full English translation". Also on page 6,  question number 5 at the bottom, asks "What documents do you need to prove family relationship? A spouse: A copy of your marriage certificate".

Reading these instructions it tells me that USCIS also needs to see the foreign marriage certificate to confirm that the English translation matches the Foreign marriage certificate information. USCIS needs to know where the information in the translation came from. In our situation we sent only our wallet size marriage certificate and the Large size marriage certificate has more information on it.

Hope this helps. If anyone else has anything else to add please comment as well.

So, be prepared to reply with the information USCIS requests in the RFE that might be sent to you. (hope its just the foreign marriage certificate-or better hope you don't get a RFE)  I would send the foreign marriage certificate and the translation back together. There will be instructions in the letter what to do like you need to return the original letter with what document or information is missing. I kept a copy scanned to our computer for our records.

I would keep looking on the old and new websites because it will show on the websites if you are getting a RFE-it will not tell you the reason though. You should receive the letter anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks after. On the old and new websites our RFE letter showed it was sent June 1 and we received it June 13. (our RFE letter was dated June 6th-which is after the posting on the website) Other postings here on Visa journey say their RFE letter was received within a week. If you reply right away hopefully it shouldn't make to much difference in your timeline. If you have more questions please ask. Everyone here wants to help each other understand and get through this process. Good Luck-Hope you receive no letter.
