does the combined approval of i751 and n400 depends upon processing times of local uscis office?my local uscis office takes 14-19.5 months currently to process n400 does this mean combined approval of i751 and n400 would take 14-19.5 months after filing for n400?then why does some people say that no it takes 6-8 months in total for the processing of combo petitions lastly i heard some local uscis office takes green card back

Hi mrcp,

According the IO of my local office, yes. The approval now depends on the processing time of your local office. when I asked her how long? She was hesitant (i don't think either they are trained or they actually know)  and she looked at the uscis website. She told me exactly what is published on line (at least 15 months after filing N400). On myuscis website that is created when I filed the N400, it says Estimated completion date: Dec 2019. Bottom line: only God knows. in the meantime, get tge blue stamps!

the reason why i am asking this particular question because i751 processing times and n400 processing times takes alot of time to finish and my future job would like to see either physical valid green card or citizenship certificate and if i am not going to have either in hand then i could not join job or sign contract my texas filed office taking upto maximun 15-20.5 months and local uscis office taking 14-19.5 months so it looks like if i would apply for n400 i might not have anything both green card or naturalization certificate at time of joining job

The blue stamp is a temporary but valid document. i have just come back from HR and they updated tge I-9 (eligibility) form.

Got passport stamped for a year, but IO took the expired green card even I requested to keep it.  She provided me the photocopy of it and said you do not need two green cards.  The stamp is good enough prove of your permanent resident status.
