As much as I'm happy for the CSC filers who have been approved, it has gotten me a little bit down as the I-751 dates were after ours :(  Totally expecting an RFE at this point

I am a November 20'th filer myself but unfortunately they don't process cases sequentially !

on average how long does process take to finish once you file for n400 with already pending i751?

That depends entirely on your field office, so say your field office takes 6 months in average to process your N-400., you should have a combo - interview in about 6 months sinece you filed your naturalization

my field office processing tim for n400 is 14-19.5 months does it mean at least minimum 14 months to get interview date after filing for n 400 its long time wait to get i751 n400 combo approval i thought if you file for n400 with pending i 751 then wait times for approval would be shorter than n400 processing times shown by local uscis office

I thought I-751 ( approve by service center) and N-400 ( approve by local field office)- are two independent process.  Why they have to combine?

That's because for your N-400 to be adjudicated, the I-751 has to be approved/adjudicated before.

Those time estimates are not very reliable, I think the website states 12 months for Chicago but it's  more like 6-7 months

The part that I am very confused is:

-For Seattle, WA, the wait time for the N400 is 15 to 17 months

-For CSC, for I751 is 15.5 to 21

-Once I filed for N400, the I751 was moved to NBC and it's this center is not listed

-On the myUSCIS website,  the estimated time for N400 is December 2019 (12 months, instead of 15-17 months)

-The extension for the 18 month GC expires (for me) in July 2019

-So the question is: what's going to happen between July 2019 and December 2019 or 2020?? are they going to keep extending the GC???

I made and Infopass appointment for tomorrow and I will update the group.

I hope I don't drive the IO crazy. Keep fingers crossed!

in all likelihood, you won't receive a physical GC.Your I-751 will be adjudicated when your N-400 interview takes place

that's what I really hope. But it looks like that I might have to go from stamp to stamp until the interview takes place. My field office seems to be super busy all the times. I am wondering at this stage if it was a good idea to file for naturalization while the I751 is pending. I am getting tired of all these theories. I need to face the facts.

GermanG-  As you know we also filed N-400 and my ROC is pending.  We are not at all regretting to file N-400.  Our ultimate goal is to get US citizenship.  We will get tomorrow to get I-551 stamp and if needed,  we will get another inforpass to get another I-551 stamp until the citizenship. Physical GC-10 is not needed as long as ROC is approved.

All - Thought I would give an update for anyone that might be in the same situation as us - need i-551 stamp BUT local field office has NO appointments available....ever.

We are Nov 17 VSC filers, Washington DC field office.  Only have the 12 month extension letter and online status has said the same thing "transfer to local office" since Feb 2018.  As his GC plus 12 months expires mid Jan, we need another extension to renew his drivers license.  Tried making infopass appointments via USCIS website for over a month and I never found an appointment available.  Tried early in the morning, late at night and randomly throughout the day.  I tried calling USCIS and they told me 1) you can make an appointment at a local field office that is not your own (we tried that while on vacation for Christmas in Reno visiting family and they told us - including the supervisor that as they do not have "jurisdiction" they could do nothing for us) and 2) try making an appointment between 6-7 am.  Neither of those methods worked.  At the Reno field office, she suggested (but could not guarantee that it would work) to just show up and ask for them to take you as an "emergency" appointment.  We did that on Monday this week and were told that for the DC field office, all 100 appointments for the week are released on Thursday at 8 am. By 8:05 all those appointments would be gone as there are more than 10,000 people looking for the 100 appointments.  So we showed up today at 7:40am waiting to get our infopass appointment, so they would see us.  The supervisor indicated that no matter when the actual appointment was for he would see us as we need the stamp to be able to renew my husband's drivers license.  Long story short - after waiting 2 hours we got the i-551 stamp for 1 year.

If Washington DC Field Office is your field office, know that the only time you will be able to find available appointments is between 8-8:05 am on Thursday mornings.

For Seattle, I made my appointment On Line at 3:00 in the morning!!!!!

I have just come back from my Infopass appointment.  i filed I751 back in Nov 2017 (csc) and N400 in October 2018. My I751 got transferred to NBC on Dec 21, 2018. So now I am a combo filer.

The IO in my field office (Seattle) was very kind. Two things:

1) They stamped my passport for the I551 as a proof of permanent residency. The IO made it valid for one year from today (so it will expire on 01.03.20). She didn't keep my expired GC. This next extension overrides the 18 month extension letter (it makes it longer).

2) She comfirmed the junction I751 + Naturalization. She checked online and said that I will be having a combo interview in my field office in Seattle. the waiting time is approximately another 12-15months (she checked on the USCIs Website for this).

in the meantime, I will go from stamp to stamp. So they combined both cases and will process directly thr citizenship!
