Same here. I am receiving the same envelope today (that’s why I came to check the forum just in case).  We won’t be able to see it until my husband gets home in like 2 hours. I also think it is too soon to get approvals.

I have received the withe-paper extension letter and I hope this is the original one.

I really hope it is not a letter for an interview because I don’t have more PTO at work this year.

Keep us posted.

Yes, I got the original extension

I wanted to update everyone who also got an unofficial extension letter instead of an official one. I got an unofficial one several months ago. Yesterday USCIS finally sent me an OFFICIAL extension letter.

Reckon applying for the N400 slows down the I751 process?

After reading other threads I think we are 4 months put of getting our green cards so I am probably not gonna apply for N400

if employer doesn't accept this official extension letters can we take legal action?

Maybe print out and show them page 16 of the Handbook for Employers M-274 Manual (link) or this webpage from the USCIS website and highlight the following...1684391257_71LawfulPermanentResidentsLPRUSCIS.png.5103dc4e4875b03baa0b9f786d455a74.png

They called their corporate office and then they figured it out! Thank you!

Quick update here. We got our "official" 18 month extension letter about a month ago. Today we got a new letter that they transferred our case from California to Nebraska service center. The transfer is kinda confusing since we got notice in Feb. that the case was sent to our local office. I would have thought that meant my local USCIS branch. I guess not.

Hi Redleg627,

PDX filer here as well. Earlier this year, I saw an update online that my case had been transferred to the local office in March. When I called USCIS in April/May to follow up, they checked and clarified my case was still in California, not the local office. Apparently this was not a bad thing because the delays at field offices were far worse than the California service center. Till date, the location status of my case has not changed online. So it is anyone's guess what the heck is going on :P I hope your case gets processed quickly in Nebraska if that is where it is actually sitting right now.
