It doesn't seem like it. There have been several discussion on this here and on other threads and seems like people either got the official letter and nothing else OR the unofficial copy and never the official one (or people who had lawyers got the unofficial one and their lawyer got the official one). So it kinda seems like we are scr*w*d... I emailed them, never called, I haven't received a response yet. But it seems like people who have called so far got no answer nor an official letter....

Since you submitted an inquiry; Please let us if they send you an official letter.

Don’t be discouraged God is in control. Hopefully you can get a positive answer from the email you sent soon.

If they ever respond or send me an official letter, I will definitely let everyone know here... I hope they will do...

Ok. That would be great if the send the official letter after submitting e-request. Is just doesn’t feel right that they don’t put enough effort to at least check about those paper copies. I wonder if more people called about this.

Hi All,

I have a friend who filed for the removal of the conditions in May 2017 and he showed me his new Green Card that he has just received (it's September 2018).

That means that it took approximately 15 months for USCIS to process his I-751 application (and not 18 months or longer).

I wonder why when Icheck on the USCIS website, it still says 17.5 months to 21 months for the California Service Center (CSC).

Does anybody know of any similar case? He lives in Seattle (like me) so his Service center was the one in California.

If that's true, it means that whoever filed in November 2017 will  receive the GC in maybe, January or February 2019?

My hopes are up now!

Have all a great weekend!

I think we can all agree that USCIS has been erratic (at best) with its operations thus far. So while it is great to hear that your friend got their permanent card after filing in May'2017, I do not know if that necessarily means the rest of us are on track. I know another person in Portland who filed in June 2017 and got his card a couple of weeks ago. There seems to be no rhyme or reason how or why USCIS is moving through 751 applications the way it is handling them right now.

I am also concerned that by the time USCIS starts acting on our cases, they will want us to turn in new biometric information because what was collected earlier is likely too old. (Rolling eyes)....

Of course, I hope I am wrong and that we don't have to wait as long as the estimates run...

I was wondering if somebody else knows about this "shorter" time. According to the USCIS website, they are processing the applications received on January 05, 2017 but if our friends (who filed in either May or June 2017) had gotten already their Green Cards, the time frames don't make any sense!

It may be because some of the older applications were transferred to other server centers (Nebraska and Tennessee I believe) and now newer applications are being processed by Texas and Arizona.

It is great that the approval process seems to have been quicker recently.  Fingers crossed it will be our turn soon.

He applied in May 2017. Maybe those cases took 15 months. Several years ago the entire process took a few months, 6 - 8 at the best. I have several friends who applied 2, 3 or 4 years ago and ALL of them received their approval within 2 - 4 months. Things are just slower. My parents and a good friend got their citizenship last year, it took a bit over a year for my mom and 1.5 yrs to my friend (neither were through marriage btw!), in the past this process was way less than a year. So again, stuff takes longer now. And also, there are exceptions. It took me less than 5 months to get my green card, but I know and see here, that for many people it took more like 8 - 12 months, 5 months was incredibly fast, they tend to say 6 months minimum.... Anyways, our timelines is definitely slower than the ones applied in April, 7 months before us...

If so scroll through all the forums, I am pretty sure everyone who got the paper unofficial copy called but me. I emailed but no response yet. Nothing feels right about their work...

I have filed in November 2017 at Vermont and current status is they received file at local office in April 2018.

I have received one year extension letter (I-797) which is about to expire in December.

Do I need to ask for another extension?

Also, I am planning to travel outside of USA for vacation in February. I have heard about I-551 stamp but could not find much information on that or how to get it.

What option do I have?  I-551 stamp or another extension?

Is it safe to travel on stamp or extension?

Appreciate for all the reply.

Hi! I would request the 18-month extension letter.   They were sent out last copy please months and in fact I did receive a courtesy copy not the official letter. Like you I’m also undecided if I should request stamp or the actual letter. I read in other posts that once you get stamp they have to keep your green card.
