I filed to Vermont near the end of November. I’ve yet to receive an extension letter. I’m hoping my neighbors didn’t receive it and not bring it to my house. They tend to get a lot of our mail/packages cuz we have the same address with an A on the end (126A while they’re 126) & we are both separate houses. So, November filer Vermont-no ex letter:(

I am the petitioner.

I think most of us have already received the 18-month extension letter. All we can do now is wait MORE!

On another note, does anyone know if we can apply for N-400 if i-751 is still pending?

Thanks!

I am CSC and I only received a curtesy unofficial copy of my 18-months extension letter. USCIS is not exactly doing it's job well...

Yes, we can apply for citizenship even if i-751 is pending

Hi All,

I am also a November 2017 filer. Two weeks ago I got my "white" (unofficial) copy for the 18-month extension.

It's absolutely legal to file the N-400 for naturalization as soon as 2 years and 9 months after being a Permanent Resident.

I am doing the naturalization process with the same lawyer that processed my Green Card because I want to have a legal representation but it's not mandatory--indeed the N-400 form is very self-explanatory.

Cheers,

g

Hi all! Have any of you received an 18-month extension letter paper copy instead of official 18month letter?

i did received a paper copy and when I called uscis (several times in a week lapse) they told me it was an automated send out of letters. Some official letters some copies (even if you didn’t have an attorney).

January ‘18 filer here though  CSC

Same here. I got the unofficial version only even though I don't have a lawyer. I never got the official one. I am worried I won't be able to travel w/out an official copy... Did they say anything about sending you an official one when you called them?

They didn’t say. I was wondering if anyone got an official letter couple months after the paper copy. I will wait another month before calling again. 😐

trusting God will hear something soon.

It doesn't seem like it. There have been several discussion on this here and on other threads and seems like people either got the official letter and nothing else OR the unofficial copy and never the official one (or people who had lawyers got the unofficial one and their lawyer got the official one). So it kinda seems like we are scr*w*d... I emailed them, never called, I haven't received a response yet. But it seems like people who have called so far got no answer nor an official letter....
