yeah I couldn't find the USCIS notice about transfer to Texas or another service center either. Who knows what is going on there? Apparently (according to one of the notices posted on USCIS), nearly 8000 green cards have been recalled due to an error where first and last names were misspelled!

Curious about the 18month extensions...does the extension count from the date your conditional GC expired or the date the letter was issued to you? For eg, my conditional GC expired In Feb'18. So I am wondering if the 18-month extension runs until Aug 2019 or if the period starts from when the notice was issued. At this time I have a I-551 stamp in my passport that is valid until Jan 20 2019. So in effect, the extension would only be for another 7 months after Jan'19 before I have to go get another I-551 stamp :(  Of course, it'd be great if the 751 got approved before all that...but I don't have high hopes :(

Hi All,

I haven't received any updates regarding my pending case.  I did speak with an Immigration Officer (Tier 2) very helpful and willing to answer any and all questions.  He did advise that the removal of conditions are currently taking just under two years to be touched, he did advise that my case hasn't yet been reviewed and is still at the CSC and did not move to the local field office as per the case status update.   I asked if I submitted N-400 within my 90 day filing window prior to the three-year eligibility rule, if it would either by-pass or approve the I-751 case.  He advised that the I-751 has to be worked regardless.  He did say that should a case which offers a high immigration benefit be approved (N-400) then the I-751 would also be approved, but the N-400 would be pending the I-751 being worked, and advised that on occasion you need to wait for ROC to be worked before the N-400 is finalized.  He then went on to say it's a grey area, that it becomes the adjudicating IO to decide how they want to proceed.  They can approve both on the spot, should the ROC and N-400 information both be present or will approve pending the ROC outcome.  He did advised that N-400 takes around 8 months and ROC around 18 months and said that they should be approved around the same time, should a new application be submitted.  I just wanted to share.

Thanks @beejerson805...This is pretty much what I was informed at my local USCIS when I visited in January to get my I-551 stamp. The officer confirmed that the N-400 approval cannot override the requirement for the I-751 to be approved. Either they both happen at the same time (if the 751 has not been approved by that time) or the N-400 approval will be pending on the outcome of 751. In January, i was informed that the current wait time for I-751 is 18-20 months (!!). This is at the California Service Center. More recently I found out (by calling USCIS) that the wait times at regional centers is upwards of 30 months.

So I am not even sure how these 6 month extension notices are going to help us. Unless the I-551 stamp we need subsequently is also issued for an 18 month period vs 12 months..

current wait times are a joke. Silicon valley is right next to CSC. CSC should learn from them how to innovate and keep customers happy.

And today I received my I-751 extension letter from USCIS, which extends me until August 2019.  I did notice that the CSC is currently working cases from December 12, 2016 which means we November 2017 filers should be worked (and hopefully approved) in July 2019.
