Hello predescesors,

 

I wanted to let anyone on this thread know my update for those in November 2017 that are still waiting for their biometrics.  We filed for ROC at CSC at the end of December 2017 and have the Dallas field office.  Details of dates are in my timeline and signature, but here is the response to our service request submitted last week:

 

"We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process.  Please know that your name will be electronically added to the appointment scheduler if needed.  Some applicants will be able to have their prior biometrics copied into our systems and will not be scheduled for a new appointment.  You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you if you in fact require an appointment."

 

So in other words, just sit back and relax.  We will be filing for USC in December 2018, so we have about 300 days to go, just under 10 months.  The USCIS can take their sweet time with our ROC case, but we hope for some better speed on the N-400!  I hope this helps anyone here still waiting!

I noticed that Feb/March 2017 filers are getting their approval at the moment. It's still a long road way for us.

Date of I-751 = The Date you sent your application.
NOA Date = The Receipt Date on your original NOA letter.
Biometrics = The Date of your biometrics appointment.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Just FYI, I just returned to the US after traveling to see my family. Everything went smoothly at immigration, handed the officer my passport, green card, the extension letter and also my biometrics appointment letter (wasn't really sure what was needed so brought both letters to be safe). The officer read my extension letter and stamped my passport with no questions asked. If it matters, I was also traveling with my USC spouse and our USC child, we went through immigration together through the PR and visas line.

From reading a couple of threads on here about CSC cases being transferred to local offices, I just checked my case number on USCIS website and it shows that my case was transferred to our local office on 24th February 2018.  

 

I'm not sure if it's too hopeful thinking that we'll receive answers sooner rather than later.  Someone in the thread I linked called USCIS and apparently it's to help ease the backlog/workload at CSC.

 

From what I understand, you need to enter the number that's on your extension letter (not the biometrics letter) into the USCIS case checker and it will show you if your case has been transferred.

I had a very smooth experience as well. I handed over my passport, GC and extension letter. There were no questions asked and took 2-3 mins. My husband who is a USC did take the separate lane for citizen immigration though.

Hope NYC local office processes this faster than VSC with no interviews.

I realize we have a lot of other people in front of us, but it is pretty exciting to know something is happening.  I guess it all now depends on how busy the local offices are.

Just checked my case status and it hasn't changed. I am only able to get a result using the biometrics number. The receipt number on the extension letter doesn't work.

Right! Hope it's positive and not a new policy to interview all 751 applicants.

Check in a few days maybe? Status should depend on shipping/processing times/etc of local office location.

Same here, saw the thread about "transfers" and using the extension letter case number, sure enough mine was received at my local office, which would be Santa Ana, yesterday , 25th. Weird... there will be still a massive wait, but if these transfer are for cases as far back as late 2016, this might go either way

One thing that did cross my mind was increased RFEs due to paperwork going missing   That's the natural worrier in me though.  I hope this transfer moves the process along and the people still waiting from 2016 get their approvals soon
