Hello all, still waiting like a lot of you. Does anyone know if there have been approvals for folks that have been transferred from California to Nebraska?  My husband is WAC1805900***,  was transferred on January 18 and last email with case status update says it was last touched on February 14th.  Thanks and best wishes to all.

I filed Dec 4th 2017, was part of the glitch early 2018, transferred on Jan 18th, and then again transferred to Nebraska on Jan 23rd. I was approved Feb 28th. Two others that was transferred to Nebraska put in a service request online for a missing 18 month extension letter and both got approved within 5-7 days. I decided to do the same request and got approved in 6 days. We all had our extension letters, just did it to get them to look at the case. None of us did the N-400 application.

Thanks! I wish you good luck as well.

At least this goes to show that N-400 (combo interview) status can change from "You attended your interview" -> "We approved your application" -> "We scheduled your ceremony" instantly, without external factors, and can be done by the IO and field office during the interview.

Good for you that it worked, but you lied. Not so sure that others should try the same...

I take it you never lied before in your life? They are now approving March 2018 and there is still people that never had their cases looked at from Oct, Nov, Dec of 2017. Their 18 month extension letters are getting ready to expire. Maybe if they don’t want people to do things like this then they should complete the older ones first. Besides that, me and my wife is going to the Philippines because her mother just passed away. Meaning we have to get our newborn a passport before we can fly, which requires sending the original 18 month extension letter and having the passport expedited. I’m not so sure we will ever see that extension letter again. I’m not taking any chances. Maybe you should worry about yourself 😊

A bad lie is when you hurt someone, a good lie is when it’s for a good cause.

I agree with you I don’t think it should be considered a lie thats  kind of silly we do what we have to do to get done what needs to be done for instance I waited 16 days to contact them because that’s what they made me do when they issued my RFE and I never received it by the mail and then when I did contact them they blamed me that I made a mistake on the application and I forgot the address and I said nope impossible because I’ve already received 4 notices from you at the same address for the same application spoke to tier 2 bofficer who got mad and hung up on me  and insisted that it was my mistake  but if you do a search on the app so far out of the Texas service center there’s been six RFE’s that I’ve counted that have been returned for the same thing. NO STREET ADDRESS.   Someone there is making a horrible mistake

Sometimes the only way things get done is by being pro-active. People have a tendency to be lazy and put things off till the last minute, and when you do that it’s leaves a greater chance for mistakes to be made. My wife’s friend has been waiting since early Sept 17 for her approval and they just put their vacation on hold because the 18 month extension letter expires soon. They lost approx 1400 dollars because Uscis is dragging their feet. They scheduled the vacation for right after the expiration date figuring they would have their green card by then. The flights were non refundable because they were bought at a discount rate. They contacted Uscis and mentioned their situation and Uscis never mentioned the stamp and just suggested to them the safest thing to do was to postpone their trip. I told them about the stamp but it was too late.

That is absolutely horrible ours is pretty close to that time frame we did ours November 2017 and everything expired February 2019 had I known about what you explained earlier about that little trick I would’ve probably tried it to before his expired we went and got the stamp but not in the passport because it was expired they stamp it on and I 94 card which most places won’t even except because all of his things are expired now. We have to drive to Detroit Because that is the closest Mexican Consulate to us 4 hours. To re new his passport. But this just  it’s so frustrating that it took them 15 months just to touch the case and then issue a RFE  probably to buy their time because they’re asking for things that I submitted the first time    I’m pretty sure because now that 15 months has passed a lot of the stuff that I sent in originally is expired like to be some stuff  And they are re asking for that same stuff.

Not weighing in on the current conversation, but on a related vein, I recommended in my December 2017 thread and will suggest here to submit a paper copy of your 2018 tax returns to the office that has your case (including any office transfers presented on a paper notice).  Also, go ahead and send some recent bank statements or insurance documents.  Include a copy of your 18 month extension letter.  Write up a note that you have additional information to include in your case file.

While I can’t say it will work, it just MIGHT cause a person to touch your case file.  They might need to put it on a desk, and might decide to go ahead and adjudicate it.

I don’t agree with false information, but I am sympathetic about this situation.  Sometimes the USCIS needs to be “re-balanced” and if there are proper tricks we can use, it may work for some.  With the USCIS approving cases from 2018, they are actually causing those who filed later stress unnecessarily.  Our 18 month extension expires in September, so we should be okay, but those in October or September 2017 who didn’t file 90 before their date are hitting a wall.  When the USCIS touches a case, they need to allow lead time for any RFE’s!

Just my two cents...

Signature coming soon...

I was checking to see if I could get an InfoPass appointment to get a stamp in my passport since my extension letter will expire in May.

This is what I saw on the USCIS website. I don't understand these people at all.

Important office information

This office is not accepting walk-in requests or scheduling InfoPass appointments.

The main idea for ROC that the couple is still married, so if their is no divorce filing or notify the USCIS that marriage is over, they could approve the case without RFE.  It is just the way  to buy more time knowing that they could not finish on time.  ROC is a wast of time process just to catch one or two bad people.
