Finally status changed to card being mailed out.   Should I apply for citizenship folks or no ?  Is it helpful to be citizen if I want to live amd work some time overseas ? Is it gonna yield more taxes vs being just a resident ?  Pros and cons ? Other than being able to vote.   Appreciate all thoughts.

Yes i would :) I plan on filing for my husbands citizenship as soon as (hopefully) the ROC is approved and a 10yr card is issued

I didnt file them together because he still needs to practice more for the citizenship interview

Heyyyyy guys!

I got an approval  notice in the mail today that I got approved Feb 11th.  I checked my status online and still says my cas has been transferred on Jan 23rd.  Is that even possible?  The letter says I got approved and expect the card to be in the mail in the next 60 days.

I hope that letter is not fake lol.

I didn't apply for citizenship yet. I don't know if I should apply and be a citizen or GC is good enough.

For all of awaiting guys ...hang in there...you sre almost there. Check your mail regularly and carefully.

Where were you transferred to and did you get any transfer notice by mail?

Dantrolene- Citizenship will be  the end of immigration journey.  You can stay with GC, but not to be political, with anti-immigration policy and so many rule changes, it is safe to become citizen.  Also to get citizenship you need clean record.  Yes you can vote and also US passport is very powerful and if you would like to travel, it is easier.  As a citizen you have no restriction how long you will stay overseas, but for GC, it is an issue.  Each time you will get in the country, you do not have to provide finger prints .  Also, you do not have to carry GC and your passport, only passport.

Last one - you do not have deal with USCIS anymore , but sadly you will loose all visajourney friends, since you might not come back to check messages here

Hi,

On Feb 11, I received an email/text saying that "We have taken an action on your case". I checked the Case Tracker app,  https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do, and https://my.uscis.gov, all of them said the same thing, which was "Case was received at my local office".

However, when I logged in to my account via https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant, it said New card is being produced.

The Case Tracker app and https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do didn't get updated till Feb 14. So remember to log in to your account and check all systems to make sure you get most updated movement on your case.

Good luck to those who're still waiting. I hope you will get great news very soon!

Here's some info about my timeline:

WAC18048xxx

NOA: 11/17/17

02/25/18: Case was received at local office

02/11/19: Case was approved

There are more of us out here waiting.  I think that my husband and I have been doing this immigration thing for such a long time that if it went fast we would be in shock. Hang in there you still have folks with you waiting.
