agree this is not a green card interview / makes it sound like you were looking for USC just to come to the US

this is an interview to unite husband and wife

and it is OUR application not YOURS

it is important to be there for emotional support and most embassies will ask when spouse was last to see you / u can say she is here now/ they do not like the USC to give the answers

we alll wish you good luck but this is for both of you to have a happy marriage / not a stupid green card

Since it is a spousal interview (CR1/IR1), I believe it includes both the visa and GC.  There is no need for a CR1/IR1 to adjust status after they come to the US.

I said it correctly.  There IS NO green card interview in a spouse visa process.  There is only a visa interview.  The visa holder is entitled to a green card once they both pay the new immigrant fee AND use the visa to enter the US. It's not that you are wrong.  It's just that there's a correct terminology and lots of incorrect terminology.  The correct terminology is less confusing to the reader.

The petition is the US Citizen's petition in behalf of their foreign spouse.  The "application" is INDEED the foreigner's application for a visa based on the approval of the petition.  Of course, the purpose of the whole process is is about uniting a husband and wife and/or other family members.  But the "application" is the applicant's application, and the interview is the applicant's interview, for an immigrant visa, not a green card.

Read the Consulate Review for your embassy.  You will find out if you can accompany your spouse.  I went with mine, although the embassy website said I wasn't allowed, I got better info from the consulate reviews.  It may not have made a difference, but for nerves and a chance to see each other it helped.  I was welcomed and ended up doing a lot of the answering.

Spouse doesn’t need to come. I had planned to join my husband for his interview and ended up getting a new job right before. We just made sure he was well prepared. Read the previous reviews on the JA embassy to help you.
