If she is unemployed right now then her current income is $0 (although unemployment compensation can be counted if she is getting that).

No, the I-864 uses current income, not past income.

 

If somebody gets a new job, they can list the amount of income they would make in a year in that position. For example, if somebody made $50,000 in the first 8 months, but then changed to a job making only  $1000/month, then the current income is $12,000 (12 * $1000)...regardless of what will be earned by the end of the year.

 

The sponsor needs to send evidence of their current income with the I-864. Somebody who is unemployed (barring UC benefits and such) has no evidence to send since they have no income.

If she's currently unemployed, her current annual salary is 0. She'll need assets, or you'll need a co-sponsor to fulfill the requirements for sponsorship.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

the question askes current yearly income

not what you make now  (NVC kept saying not right)

go to the instructions for the I 864

i kept putting the current year which was more than past year and the instructions wanted the last IRS tax statement income

strange but that was the instructions

Current yearly income means what you are making CURRENTLY. If you aren't employed you have no current yearly income. So, yes it means what you make now. 

 

Yes, they want last years tax return. However, you have to show proof of current income. Job offer letter, pay stubs, and any other stuff you have to support it.
