Well I got brown lentils, and chipotle hot sauce, and chick peas so I'm ready to cook soon!

Is there any special thing that people have with koshari?

Heartburn??

No, I'm just kidding, I've never even had it before. Enjoy!

A big glass of cold water maybe? Koshari is an all inclusive meal. Nothing else is required IMO.

Sounds good!

:dance::dance: actually the recipe i forwarded to you was from Kara (aka moody)! the only issue I have with koshari is all the steps to take, it takes time to do rice, lentils and pasta (i use ditalini pasta), and i LOAD up on the onions, vinegar and add the crushed red peppers!

Khubiz (Arabic pita bread) and maybe some hummus would be nice.

I used moody's recipe but used some tabasco sauce instead of the chipolte sauce to taste and substituted those French's onion rings you get in the can 'cause I'm lazy and it tasted wicked yummy still!!! The smell of the cooking though made me cry for the whole night. :(

Well we both enjoyed it! It was a little tangy-er than I expected, but still I really liked it. Suj kept saying how good it was, so it's a keeper! :D

I was thinking I could also make an Indian version of it. Instead of the vinegar and hot sauce, I could put in some Indian spices to spice it up, and it would be a completely different yet equally good dish.
