Hey everyone, can someone please clarify something for me. A friend of mine just recently got married and did the K1 Visa route. She said she spoke to a USCIS officer and was told that the K1 visa expires 90 days from time of issue, meaning from when he is approved after the interview at the embassy. I asked multiply immigration lawyers and looked at the USCIS website and understood it completely differently. I thought once we get our paperwork sent from NVC to the embassy, he does his medical exam and gets his additional papers ready, goes for the interview. If he is approved after the interview, they take his passport and within a week or so he gets his K1 visa. At that time the visa would expire in 6 months. So he would have 6 months to come to the USA from the time it is issued. Once he gets through port of entry and everything is fine, he then has 90 days from time of port of entry to marry me here in the US. Did I understand that right or is she right in saying he only has 90 days, she insisted this was information directly given by the USCIS officer so her and her now husband made sure he was on the next flight out after his interview. This is stressing me out because we are told not to sell his car or even buy a plane ticket until he is approved at the interview. We are waiting to book a venue, photographer etc until after he is approved. How am I supposed to plan everything so last minute if she is right?

Noa2 expires after 4 months.

which during you need to schedule the interview.

k1 visa before entering us has a 6 months to expire (more like 6 months from medical exam)

And after you enter US k1 expires in 90 days, which you need to marry in and file AOS

Overall she misinterpret the thing they told her.

Exactly the same situation.

fb usually doesn't create rfe. Unless they suspect and ask you about how you met on fb.

dont worry about it, the worst case they'll ask and you'll send TOS. And that's it. I'll let you know if they send me rfe because of it.

(we also met on Facebook through a mutual friend)

Hi Everyone!

This is my first time posting in this topic (I hope I’m doing it right). I am a November filer as well and have been reading this thread for a while now :). Quick question- has anyone received RFE yet? I’m getting a letter in the mail today from the California service center and have no idea what it could be? I figured it’s too early for RFE? I’ll find out what I get home today but until then I’m freaking out.

They are still processing June and just started July. They are no where near November yet. Wonder what it is for...

It says I-797 Notice of Action saying we're approved. I think it's the NOA 2?!?!

Wow! Really?!? I’m sure I’m not the only one who will be asking this but....are you sure? What does it say exactly? Photo of it maybe with info blurred out? I mean, you’ve just received the “holy grail”...I’m blown away😮
