These are the things I am going to do during the period. Maybe you guys have some other good suggestions??

I think that's an awesome way to spend the time. I am working on a lot of things:

- Making lists of what I need for the embassy

- Start collecting data for the evidence folder for the embassy

- Sent my fiancé a list of things he needs to get me for the embassy

- Making a list of what needs to be done after POE

- How to get a SSN and do I get it before or after the wedding

- Getting idea's and plans ready for a simple and low key ceremony (we already decided to have a big renewal of our vows at our first anniversary as a substitute for a real wedding)

- Making a list of what I need to do for the AOS

- Looking into daily life (what car do I need, what job could I look for, what social activities are available ect. Already made friends at the genealogy department when I was there in December, yay!)

- Studying for the drivers license (since Indiana requires a full written and practical)

- Planning his trip over here in March (he is finally to meet my family and friends in rl, they chat a lot online already, I am so lucky)

- Rounding up loose ends of my life here like informing my boss of my plans, making sure I leave everything in good order and sell my house

- Making decisions on what to take and what to sell off since I can't afford a large move, especially selling off my books will be really hard, but they are many and heavy and I can't take them all

That's off the top of my head...

I'm a busy bee...

Hmmm!

Yeah, I think you can travel a bit often to meet your partner. 7-8 months is really too long.

In the past year, we met each other every 2 months or even shorter. This is a bit crazy as each trip takes literally 20+ hours. I feel we can collect a lot of points from the airline company and become VIP. lol.

That's another thing that confuses everyone. Your application was sent to Dallas lock box (not the center) and went to California directly.

Texas doesn't do k1 visas anymore other than some rare cases that get transferred from California. All k1 goes to cali and some background checks (criminal background etc.) causes them to be transferred to Vermont or other places.

I sent my petition via UPS 2nd day air, I believe they have 2 addresses in Texas depending on the method of delivery, I just checked and mine was sent directly to DHS in Lewisville, TX, as per instructions on the USCIS site.

So you also feel like those honeymoon tickets will come out free with all the points we are all gathering now 😁

Yes that is also the same place but that's the address when you send with the fedex or ups.

I mean it is not the texas service center,  "wac(western adjudication center)" infront of your noa1 receipt number is the code for California service center (they changed the name)

Oh Lord, add another point to the list...

I've flown with two different airliners and haven't even checked how I can gather airmiles or airliner credits or anything. Might be a good idea.

I'm not sure if we will be able to fly out to see each other after march :( I've taken holiday the first weeks of January and will be having time off when he is here in March. Because I will quit my job at 3/4 of the year my vacation days will be cut accordingly. I don't think I'll have enough days to fly out again and neither does he. Besides, its about 1500 dollar for a ticket. We can use the money for more important things like the AOS and the moving.

Decide on one alliance at least and start gathering! I can already buy tickets inside us for  free!

But I hear you about the work part... I used up everything and more this last trip.. I can't even get sick till end of march now .. let's just hope for the best that they will pick up a bit.

Winter months are famous for being quick, so even if things got worse now, winter months won't be worse than this. So logically it should pick up a bit..

(but then again uscis and logic don't rhyme)

You can register as a  frequent flyer so you can accumulate the points for the miles you have travelled. Then later on, you can use the points to buy the tickets at a lower price or even for free.  I am not too sure whether you could get the points for the trips you have taken in the past.

According to KLM/Delta and United Airlines I can. So that's good news! I have to fly with Delta anyway when I move cause they are the only truly reliable pet carrier out of the Netherlands.

I'm thinking I'll be busy after march anyway. He flies back home on the 21st so that takes us almost in to April. Then I hope to get our NOA-2 two months later in June which means I will be busy scheduling appointments and medicals and tying up the last loose ends.

So Nov is considered as winter months, right?! :)

I feel like there's a need to build a statistical modelling to predict the trends if there are sufficient data. haha.

How do you gather those data from the past months?  Do we get to know every date of the status updates for the cases?

We used to do statistics, One of my jobs is actually forecasting. But they are not updating well enough anymore so we can't do most of the analysis we used to.

If an update shows online its in that data. Basically what the scanners in each month doing is same as what the case tracker apps do. But instead we only scan for k1 petitions and from a computer and put the data for everyone's use. But because they don't update correctly since this January, we have lots of non-updated mails (please register for informed delivery) especially june and july is going without updates so we have close to  no data.

but for your own case, use the uscis web site.. apps don't update it soon enough :)

i gathered starting from march, and checked the flow (I really have too much time) but it doesn't mean anything with today's conditions...

however july and September has extremely little numbers so I hope by the time it gets to you guys it will be under 180 days (but there's no data to prove this theory at the moment...

By the way if they start updating etc. if you know about any type of analysis and have time or want to play with it, please do so. The data is for all of us here i know we all apppreciate every guess every theory!

If there's an animal I suggest delta! It was the easiest flight even with two cats :)

I love to play with data. I'm an archivist and historian by trade so paperwork is my job. I'm just now figuring out where I can find all the data. I'm not sure why you say there's no updates though. I installed the casetracker last night and I keep getting buzzed that there's movement in 'similar' cases. Just now a Japanese case from June 4 was RFE'd.

And yes, there's two dogs. My two babies
