That’s what I thought. Just wanted to clarify for those that think the full process still only takes 6 months.

I would have done the CR1 route had I not read approval rates of 6 months too.

Yeah we were hesitating too but it seemed that K1 would be set in about 6 months total (average)...well now that we are in it we just have to wait... <_<

Our Immigration Journey 🙃

- K1 Visa 2017-11-14 (sent) to 2018-07-26 (visa received)

- Adjustment of Status 2018-08-13 (filed) to 2019-03-27 (approval)

Now on to Lifting Conditions!

- 2021-02-12 sent

- 2021-03-22 check cashed

- 2021-03-23 NOA by text

Last update of the year for the average processing time of all cases received every considered day and approved within the next 197 days, as to 12/30/17.

Only one week has been added since the last graph, being these results, however, more accurate since more days have been considered to make the calculations.

Again, the tendency isn't looking good although it's also true that this isn't the best time of the year for USCIS to make good progress. We'll see what happens with the beginning of 2018!

Hello everyone. I have a question regarding travel once a person enters with the K1 visa. When my fiancée arrives, I want to know how soon he will be able to travel outside of the country. From what I understand (correct me if wrong) but a person can only enter once on the k1 visa. So I guess my question is, if we marry immediately and send the adjustment of status through, how long is the wait until he can travel? (We have a family reunion abroad this summer that I really want to attend :( but of course I wouldn’t go and leave him). Any information would be really appreciated.

I'm not sure when he can travel again once he is here but by the looks of things our fiancees may not be here before the end of the summer. Average wait time until the interview is very long now and is only trending slower.

At the same time you apply for AOS after marriage you would apply for an EAD and AP (advanced parole). Both seem to take 90 days/3 months from application to receiving so I wouldn't expect to be able to travel before the end of summer. And as stated above, I would not expect that we would even have our K1's finalized by the end of summer with the way processing is going now, never mind being able to be married.

That could be a good thing though as you could still meet up with your Fi overseas for the reunion BEFORE he has arrived in the US.

Update for everyone! I Had no issues going through UK border force at Heathrow. The gentleman asked me where I was staying for how long, he chit chatted me for a minute about Bournemouth and looked at my return ticket that was it! I had no issues. I hope this eases the mind of anyone planning to visit their UK fiance, especially if like me you're a female.

I had an amazing 3 weeks with my fiance, I wish I could've brought him back with me. We miss each other so much

Hi everyone, I am also a Nov filer. Our Noa1 is on 3rd Nov 2017.

Now I am planning to visit US in coming Feb and will be there for 16 days.  (Not really planning to as I have already booked the tickets)

I am not too sure if this is ok?

Will I be possibly questioned and will the customs see any record of my K1 application? What should I bring with me as a prove that I will return on time? Is an employment letter enough?

Has anyone visited US after they have been waiting for Noa2??

Thank you.

Welcome!

There are lots of recent posts containing advice on travelling to the US and elsewhere while waiting for your NOA2 (too many to quote even, lol as I just tried to share them in this post but there were too many).

This is page 24 of the thread but if you just scroll back to page 20, 21, 22 and 23 you will find answers to your questions through examples of what we travelled with/what happened at BP. Those are all recent trips too.

It’s quite easy and if your prepared, reassuring.

Good luck!

Happy New Year everybody! I hope many of you got a chance to visit (or be visited) your fiance. I got to meet her extended family in rural Thailand on my trip. What an experience! But now the reality of getting back to work is tough. And the long wait ahead. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Thanks for your reply!

So did you literally answer that you are going to see your fiancé/fiancée in the States?

I am worried that once I say I am going to visit my fiancé on my B1 visa, I will not be allowed to enter. This is my concern.

Will they also consider the frequency of visiting the States? As I went there in Aug, Nov and each time I stayed there for 7-10 days and now I will visit again in Feb and I will be there for 16 days. I am a bit worried but I can bring employment letter, and lease letter just in case.

I entered easier when I told them I'm visiting my fiancé, nobody even asked for my ticket. compared to my other times, and never showed or asked for anything other than my ticket.

I went 3 times in 2017 for about 2 weeks each and last 2 times I mentioned my fiancé. My port of entry was LAX.

That's cool! Thanks for the information. I think LAX is one of the most strict ports.

I usually become very nervous when they ask a lot of questions.

I actually feel like lax is the most chill. Just try not to be nervous and answer honestly. Have your return ticket also ready so that you can show if asked.
