With all due respect is how did I admit I was allowed to meet in person? We had already put on our application about not being together within 2 years due to my Muslim practicing laws. I had also spoken to attorney in past and he had assured me that that wouldn't be an issue for us because I am in Egypt with strict Muslim practicing rules and I am a Muslim.

You told us earlier in the thread you had met prior to filing, and that you told the government about how you met, just that it was past 2 years before....

Here are your quotes:

"Yes we did put exactly how we met and everything on the basis of our relationship and we sent photos of how we are planning our wedding and sent in the wedding invitations. But because she was just getting into a new job, she couldn't take the time off to come out here. But we literally talk every single day and have planned just about every detail of our wedding"

"What I think it could be is that we can't afford for her to fly to and from Egypt back to the states, so by the time she had filed technically the 2 years had already passed since we last saw each other."

You specifically mention you couldn't afford to fly, that has nothing to do with your religious reasons....

Lots of Muslims do the K-1 process, as far as I know Muslims are not prohibited from meeting, they just must have a chaperrone, yeah? And, this doesn't appear to be an arranged marriage which is what the waiver is for.

I'd say if you spoke with an attorney, than follow their advice, for I am not one, just giving my opinion based on your own statements and the rules.

I appreciate your knowledge and we had previously met because I used to live in the US for 26 years and we had known each other, but ever since I came out here in September 2015 she wasn't able to come out here. And the application was delayed due to stupid lawyer delays and then when we finally got it filed it literally just passed the 2 years window (October 2017)

Congratulations!! :dancing:

I'm going to type up a letter this weekend and mail it after the holiday, as Monday will be 200 days for us.  Did you email your congressperson, or write a letter? Have any suggestions/tips? I couldn't find anything extremely helpful searching VJ.

My petitioner called the Congress first, asked the proper way to submit help. The congress staff told us to fill out a certain form and authorization form then mail it to them. Please call your representative first they might accept email instead and forms needed to fill out. Good luck.

There are 480 approvals total. 461 of those came in May, the other 19 came before May and were either expedited cases, or there was one weird day a month ahead were they approved a few on the 16th for some odd reason.

Thank you.. What I'm getting at is, if you were to add up all approvals, RFE's and denials during the month of May, how many cases are remaining? I think this would give us an idea of how much longer it will take based on the performance of this month alone.

It makes me sad thinking that we have to contact anyone to help us figure out what's happening with our cases, that were filed more that half a year ago. This is just too frustrating.. Sorry, I couldn't keep cool. If they are working the way they say they do, they are going to work on our case at the end of June, which brings us to 7,5 month waiting. According to the website now, processing times are 5-7 month.

I've done some of this analysis previously. Here's a chart that shows only the month of May.

There are currently 2366 remaining.

In May, they've touched an average of 47 "virgin" cases per working day.

During the most recent week, that average was 79.

So, if they touch on average 80 new cases a day going forward that would take about 29 working days to finish November...

However, we know that we historically have only seen 70% of what happens, so if we take that into account, there are probably only 1988 cases left which would take 24 working days at the 80 per day pace.

Personally, I think we will see 1-2 more weeks of closer to 100 number days as I think there are less than 500 October cases actually left, which should help bring the number of open cases down nicely.

It's all up in the air though, because I suspect there is more 'silent' ones due to them switching to the new system than before, and they don't have a consistent method for processing cases, and at some point before finishing November they will start on December.

You will notice in the chart that the daily updates and daily virgins touched are almost identical, as they receive RFE responses and process them when they come in, and many people take a long time to respond.

And a second chart showing total known numbers and total estimated numbers while estimating for 'silent' updates.

I’m being honest here, it will be hard to get approved that way. I know it’s hard for you to travel during Ramadhan and all, but the only way to tackle that kind of RFE is evidences that you two met during 2 years span. Book a flight, do it now. I’m living in muslim country too and even with the most pious muslim practitioners here doing ta’aruf they still allowed to meet each other.

Not only book a flight. Get a US tourist visa, get a POE stamps, and if you are not allowed to take photographs together you still can state the reason and it will be okay I think (not reccommend it tho). If it’s hard for you to apply US tourist visa- which I did too, meet in another country that both of you can travel freely. Only have a flight itinerary and itention to meet won’t get you anywhere because the rule about meeting requirement is iron clad.

Good luck for you, and that’s all that I know.

The problem is it had to be during the 2 years immediately previous to filing the petition. Meeting now is too late for this petition, if i understand the rules correctly. You'd need to either wait to see what happens with this petition and miracly get approved, or get denied or withdraw it and apply again.

At this point you might as well wait and see if you do get an RFE and then decide what to do.
