Hi, my interview was on November 1st in Dominican Republic. Our appointment was 9:00 am and we got there at 8:40 am. They review our appointment letter and pass for the x Ray. We made a line to deposit the documents. We went to the window 11, the guy just asked for the original marriage and my husband birth cerificate ( no copies ). After 2.5 hours of wailing we were called to the interview with the counsel window 4. Asked for our names, looked at my husband birth certificate and asked is your mom (her name) and your father (his name); then asked me is that your husband (yes). Kids? (No): where, when and how you guys met, tell me your love history. Then she asked to my husband, have you ever went out of the country, have you ever apply for a us visa, have you ever have problems with the justice. And that’s it. You visa has been approved. We are a cr1 marriage and not proof were asked.

Congratulations!!!  That’s amazing

Hi! I just received my case number and Invoice number from the customer service rep. The rep sounded like nothing could really be done until they sent out the email, which she said would take a while because they're still "working on the file" My questions is, do you really have to wait for the email or can you pay the fees online and start the process to get a head start on things?

REceived my case number and IIN as well! Where you able to log in pay?

Hi today when we called to obtain case number and IIN, my husband was asked if he wanted to be the agent and to confirm the email address over the phone. Does that mean we do need to do form DS-261 anymore?

How soon after having a case number assigned can we proceed to do the first payment?

Hey! No, I’m still not able to pay. The customer service lady told me it would take a while for them to update my i130 completely into the system, that’s why they send out the email much later. Once it’s all done 100%

My lawyer said the same thing. But said she would keep checking and do it right away once they open it up for us

Depends on the embassy. I got my visa 2 days after the interview, with other embassies it takes a week or even two and you can travel to the US as soon as you have the visa in hand.

Lady over the phone told us our welcome letter had been mailed off today. And she also asked my husband if he wanted to be the agent and to confirm the email address. We are not sure if we still need to fill out the DS-261 form though...

Oh nice! Congrats!

do you know who receives the welcome letter? Beneficiary or petitioner? Also, does the option to fill out the DS-261 show up for you when you log in? Because for me I don’t see anything except the fees

It seems welcome letter is sent to the same address NOA2 was sent to.

seems DS-261 is not available yet for us either. Maybe we have to give it a day or so.

We JUST received the welcome email and are finally able to pay the fees online! But since it's already almost Saturday, we're going to have to wait for our lawyer to get into work on Monday and then do it @melusine10

Sending out my IV package in the next couple of days. Having a hard time understanding how long it's taking NVC to review packages these days. The timeline spreadsheet only shows the interview date, and each country takes different times for that. It seems that I have to go into individual timelines to check this. Some of them say 7 months!!! Should I assume it's because they received check lists? I've included pretty much my whole life in the package, so I'm praying that it's complete!

Can anyone give me an estimate of how long it should take?

i-130 sent in December before fee change- around 12.22.16

1.3.17: Processing date for i-130.

9.27.17: Rec'd e-mail that i-130 approved!

10.5.17: Case sent to dept. of state for processing.

10.11.17: NVC rec'd case.

10.20.17: Rec'd case number and invoice ID number from NVC over the phone.

10.21.17: Filled out choice of address and agent.

10.24.17: AOS bill opened and paid

10.31: IV bill opened and paid (called 10.26 to ask them to process AOS bill and DS-261)

11.1: Bank processed IV Bill

11.3 DS-260 form filled out online

11.8 NVC package sent!

11.13: NVC package arrives at NVC

11.14: Scan date!

11.16: Sent expedite request to NVC

11.22: Expedite approved by consulate

11.28: Rec'd e-mail from NVC that package was sent to consulate. CEAC tracker states: in transit. Case Complete at NVC
12.11 Rec'd e-mail from consulate that package arrived, together with Pkt 3 instructions.
1.10 Interview apt letter rec'd via e-mail! (scheduled medical appointment)
1.25 Interview in the morning. Was told approved on the spot and visa should arrive in the mail within ten days! Yay!
1.26 CEAC tracker says Visa Issued!
1.30 Visa arrived!
