That's right! The petitioner's birth certificate is what they need as civil document.

I did not send a birth certificate to NVC am the petitioner, I guess I should wait for an RFE!! That would suck

OMG!!  I just called NVC since it's been a while since I hounded them.   The lady was so nice this time :jest:!   She said congratulations your case is complete check your email for the letter and as soon as we get word from Islamabad you'll receive the information about your interview.

I'm so excited.  My husband and I were praying hard together this morning even got a little emotional and then we get approval!

One step closer.  Now I can stress about the interview and my trip plans to attend..lol

MY SD is 9/14

Omg congratulations! God is so good. Please continue to keep us updated. Best of luck with your interview. 🙂

My husband didn’t send one as well. I️ believe when it comes to NVC all the civil documents thy need are mainly from the beneficiary. I’m praying for a case complete and not an check list. When is your scan date?

Mine is Oct. 23 2017.

Im praying for a case complete in 4 weeks total. I’m so ready for this process to be over.

Mine is an IR-5 case, I'm sponsoring my mom. In that case my birth certificate is essential because it proves she is indeed my mother.

It's the equivalent of a marriage certificate for IR1-CR-1 cases, it proves the relationship between petitioner and beneficiary.

It may not be necessary for your case.

My husband paid the IV fee early morning yesterday and it showed that it's in process. Also , it showed on his bank account the deduction of $320 pending.  But when he checked it today it says pay now . Has anyone experienced the same thing?

Yes, same exact thing. Give it 2-3 days and it will go back to pay and you'll be able to access the IV application.

Hi, my interview was on November 1st in Dominican Republic. Our appointment was 9:00 am and we got there at 8:40 am. They review our appointment letter and pass for the x Ray. We made a line to deposit the documents. We went to the window 11, the guy just asked for the original marriage and my husband birth cerificate ( no copies ). After 2.5 hours of wailing we were called to the interview with the counsel window 4. Asked for our names, looked at my husband birth certificate and asked is your mom (her name) and your father (his name); then asked me is that your husband (yes). Kids? (No): where, when and how you guys met, tell me your love history. Then she asked to my husband, have you ever went out of the country, have you ever apply for a us visa, have you ever have problems with the justice. And that’s it. You visa has been approved. We are a cr1 marriage and not proof were asked.
