I called the nvc today and was told that I am under additional review for my affidavit of support. Has anyone gone through this before? And how long did it take? My documents were received on 10/12 but I was told my 11 weeks start from 10/18 :(

Hi got a question,

The document cover sheet sent by NVC has asked for "Petitioner's civil documents"?? What else besides USC passport copy

Look at Step 6 on this page maybe it's proof of domicile?

It could be different for everyone..

Just to add my case (and I thought I was done with this 8 years ago...)...

Petitioned for my mom.

I-130 PD: 2/15/17

I-130 approval (TSC): 8/25/17

Sent to NVC: 9/11/17

Received by NVC: 9/18/17

Scan Date: 10/6/17

The AOS/IV docs have been scanned on 10/6, confirmed by NVC over the phone, but online status says "DS-260 received online, now submit required docs"... I guess they don't update it so often...

My mom comes here on ESTA (VWP) often (including 4 times during I-130 and NVC processing), so far no problem at POE, next she gets here on 11/15.

Hopefully case is completed soon so she can get her interview in Italy and come here for good.

AOS:

Quick question: I filed I-864W and I sent tax transcript and W-2s, income from W-2 well above the required threshold.

I did not send any employment letter with my IV/AOS package, but I gave one to my mom for her interview just in case.

Instructions on NVC website clearly state that employer letter is needed only when income is below poverty level.

I hope I don't get a checklist... Anyone had similar experience?

Hi,

My 2nd IR5 case completed today too. AOS fee disappeared and both case changed status to AT NVC.

Both case have scan date 09/18

I will update whenever I got Interview date.

I'm in the same boat (just one IR-5, scan date 10/06). Did your online status change? Mine still says "Submit required documents"...

I think it's the petitioner's birth certificate.

Hi! I just received my case number and Invoice number from the customer service rep. The rep sounded like nothing could really be done until they sent out the email, which she said would take a while because they're still "working on the file" My questions is, do you really have to wait for the email or can you pay the fees online and start the process to get a head start on things?

I heard it takes around 4-5 days. They told me the same thing When I called them yesterday. I called them today and they said my case has been reviewed and the system doesn’t show the results immediately and I will get to know by Monday.

If you dont mind can i ask why are you under additional review? did you file AOS with joint sponsor or income of last year was less?

They didn’t say why it was under review. They just mentioned something about a pilot program. I didn’t use a joint sponsor but my income last year was less than my income this year.
