Long story short. We submitted the wrong police clearance with our packet, 2 days ago. I just got the right one and want to send that in, in order to avoid a checklist.

My lawyer’s advice is either wait for a checklist and then submit it right away or sometimes they give you a CC and then ask you to bring the right one in for the interview. She said you can only use the cover sheet once and if you send it without one it’ll probably never reach your file.

Opinions?

Can you copy the cover sheet and use it again?

If i were you i will try to send an email and explain that you are aware of this wrong document, attach the correct one so they know that you already have it and give you a CC and have you bring it to interview instead..

I think what your lawyer said makes sense.

Just called NVC since I got to 6 weeks yesterday and I know cases have been averaging 7 week approvals, they said my case was picked up by the document review department a few days ago but it depends on how many people are ahead of me which they don't know. So I'm hoping to hear something next week.

Hi there, what does it mean that it's at the review department? They're actually working on it now? Do do you call now everyday? You said you're hoping to hear something next week... does that mean you wait for an e-mail or something? TIA!

i-130 sent in December before fee change- around 12.22.16

1.3.17: Processing date for i-130.

9.27.17: Rec'd e-mail that i-130 approved!

10.5.17: Case sent to dept. of state for processing.

10.11.17: NVC rec'd case.

10.20.17: Rec'd case number and invoice ID number from NVC over the phone.

10.21.17: Filled out choice of address and agent.

10.24.17: AOS bill opened and paid

10.31: IV bill opened and paid (called 10.26 to ask them to process AOS bill and DS-261)

11.1: Bank processed IV Bill

11.3 DS-260 form filled out online

11.8 NVC package sent!

11.13: NVC package arrives at NVC

11.14: Scan date!

11.16: Sent expedite request to NVC

11.22: Expedite approved by consulate

11.28: Rec'd e-mail from NVC that package was sent to consulate. CEAC tracker states: in transit. Case Complete at NVC
12.11 Rec'd e-mail from consulate that package arrived, together with Pkt 3 instructions.
1.10 Interview apt letter rec'd via e-mail! (scheduled medical appointment)
1.25 Interview in the morning. Was told approved on the spot and visa should arrive in the mail within ten days! Yay!
1.26 CEAC tracker says Visa Issued!
1.30 Visa arrived!

They said its waiting go be reviewed  but is in the department that does reviews, they had requested it.

No I wouldn't call everyday, maybe I'll check at the end of the week, but I'll also check the portal first.

I think it can tend to be there around a week.

I asked about how I would get contacted, they said email, which I expected cause I setup myself as the agent and supplied my email.

I see you just got your scan date, my best advice is keep yourself preoccupied and try not to think about it, I kept myself busy and the time went by faster.

You might also have delays cause of the holidays.

Hi guys on the ceac websites it went from “action required submit required documentation” to “at nvc

what does this mean ? Do I have a CC?

can't tell what your current state is since your timeline isn't filled out, but I would say that's a good sign, you can try calling them and inquiring about your case.

So I just logged in to check the status of my case after calling yesterday and finding out it was in the review department.

Today it changed to AT NVC

I just called.

CASE CLOSED

:dancing:

Unfortunately for Mexico it's a long wait still.

One thing I don't understand, I have a expedite at the embassy level, they told me they're sending it to the embassy and they'll set the interview, not sure if that's actually true as I've seen others on here say they've gotten to schedule their own, I asked what the difference was and they said usually the case would stay at NVC and NVC would schedule the interview.

Is that right?

They seemed to be confused themselves and wanted to get me off the phone.

They received my case on the 13th and I called again today and they said it can take 2 weeks for them to get the case into the system and generate a case number. I’m going to call again on Friday and then start again next week.
