How long does it take for P4 letter to be emailed after being assigned interview date? Only have five weeks before interview. Wanna get medicals completed.

2016-09-06: I-130 Sent

2016-09-09: NOA1 Received at USCIS. Case sent to Nebraska Service Center

2017-03-31: Case approved at USCIS.

2017-04-06: Got NOA2 in Mailbox.

NVC:

2017-04-11: Case sent to NVC from USCIS

2017-04-17: Case received at NVC

2017-04-20: NVC assigned a case number and invoice

2017-04-20: Submitted DS-261 Agent Form online

2017-04-21: Reviewed DS 261 Agent over Phone

2017-04-21: AOS invoice received via email

2017-04-21: AOS invoice paid online

2017-04-26: IV fee paid online

2017-04-26: Sent AOS and IV packages (hard copy) in one package

2017-04-26: Submitted DS-260 form online 

2017-04-27: NVC received AOS and IV packages

2017-04-28: Scan Date

2017--06-22: Review in process 

2017-6-23: Got checklist

at what point does status tracker change from 'at nvc' to 'in transit'. is it as soon as they schedule the interview, or after it has been scheduled and the file is on its way to the embassy?

There is no group that discusses interview results. Each country  has their Interview reviews you can go there.
Some post their interview reviews here.

2 to 4 days after they schedule you. be sure you have your medical at least 2 weeks before interview. It's now taking 2 weeks for results no more 2 to 3 days.

Thanks, I know. That's why in ready for the letter. We only have five weeks. And he wanted to start on medicals ASAP. Hopefully it come overnight like it usually does and he'll take off work tomorrow and start the process. Thanks

It varies. Once interview is scheduled it can take 1 to 3 weeks for your petition package to be sent out. I know ours shipped out 2 weeks after it was scheduled. I saw the In Transit then it sat at embassy until day of interview. No wonder the CO was ill prepared for interview.
