call nvc that mean you got an interview and your case is sent to your embassy

I should clarify, our case was expedited so the NVC sent the case directly to the consulate without processing.

Hi all, I got case complete confirmation from NVC over the phone yesterday and today I received a checklist email. Has anyone been through similar experience?

I just posted a question in a new thread. Please take a look at it and let me know if you have any thoughts.

Thanks

You need to go through the checklist carefully to determine if this was a false checklist or otherwise. Sometimes your case is complete and you're required to bring items to the interview. Please read through the checklist and determine which it is. Good luck.

So I went through the letter few times. What I am not sure is that they are saying that

The instructions will ask you to either:

  •   Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview;

    or

  •   Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet. Clearly write your case number BMB1234567890 on the upper right-hand corner of every document you send. After we receive and review the requested information, we will let you know the status of your case. For current processing times, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish).

If you have any questions about this letter, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/ask (English) or nvc.state.gov/ask/espanol (Spanish).

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and documents to continue the immigration process.

But in the instruction, I don't see anywhere saying which option they want me to do.

I posted the complete letter in the link to the main thread. Can you see if you can make out what they are really saying please? I already submitted the PCC with my packet.

Here is the main thread link:

Thank you

NVC is asking for the beneficiary to bring a current and original copy of the his/her police certificate to the interview.  You may have sent it with the IV package but the beneficiary should bring originals of all the IV documents to the interview.

You can double confirm by calling NVC and make sure that you have a case complete.  If you do then you just have to wait for the interview to be scheduled.

I've stopped calling as well I'm so sad and stressed out honestly... Most of all frustrated... My CC is 9/25 don't know why Guatemala is taking so long this month out of all months where people before were only waiting 2 weeks for an interview date. I'm losing hope for getting a date in December...

thanks for reply. I will confirm by calling on Monday. (since they are closed today for holiday). I did confirm twice yesterday and they did confirm case closed. This email just threw me off guard.

Yes, SAJourney is right. They need you to either bring your Australian police certificate to the interview or have it sent by the issuing authority directly to the consulate where you'll have your interview. I believe you have a case complete and nothing to worry about other than getting the PCC available before your interview.

ok, thanks. I wish they would be more specific about these kind of things. in the instruction page they literally copy and paste things from their website (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AS.html) rather that telling me what steps I should be taking.

I appreciate your input.

Does this mean Case Complete? Or coming soon?

We got an email saying that it is a "checklist" but in the end they just want him to bring a copy of my W2. (silly, because I put it in the packet, but whatever, I don't even care!!)

It says they will schedule the interview.

Anyone know about Madrid Embassy timing?

October 2011: Met in Spain

2012-2014: Video chat + visas + visits and vacations = we made it through!

June 2014: Moved to Spain, got engaged

December 31, 2015: got married

April 20, 2016: sent I130 package

May 2, 2016: package received in Chicago Lockbox - - - 12 days for delivery!! Don't use TNT couriers!!

May 2nd or 5th, 2016: email NOA1... accepted and sent to.... NEBRASKA

And now.... breeeeeeathe..... be like water my friend....

October 26th, 2016: NOA2 [We had waited almost 6 months. Received notification from the phone app, never got an email.]

November 9th 2016: USCIS sent the petition to NVC (app notification) [waited 2 weeks after approval for this]

November 25th 2016: NVC received and created account for our petition [waited 16 days after USCIS sent it, for NVC to acknowledge receipt]

Dec 1st 2016: Chose agent online DS261 [a few days later than it could've been since the above NVC email went to SPAM!]

Dec 6th 2016: Case available for paying fees. That was fast, I think! 5 days!

Took a long time to get package out because... life... and husband's family in Morocco had to travel to get police document.

Feb 20th 2017: Scan date at NVC, received weird email.

April 28th 2017: CHECKLIST. Moroccans are required to send a Court Report regardless of Police Record status. My husband had to go back to Morocco to get it in person. Also, NVC wants a 2016 tax return now that is 2017. My bad.

September 15th 2017: 2nd Scan Date at NVC. Sent for document review October 20th.

Nov 10th 2017: Email requesting document be brought to interview. Will schedule interview.

Case complete date??: TBD :clock:.... November 8th!!

Interview date : January 18, 2018!!           Result: Administrative Processing

Embassy called for new medical last week of August. New Medical Sept 10.

Visa ISSUED September 14, 2018.
