Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I'm American and my husband is from Morocco. We submitted his application for his Greencard May 2017. We had an RFE, but we sent the missing documents back immediately. In September, we received his Interview date for October 2017. We drove to Charleston, SC for his interview. When we arrived they told us they rescheduled it. They claimed they sent a notice about the cancelled appointment the Friday before. As of today, we have not received the letter. My husband and I are a litte upset because we drove 2 hours to get there for them to tell us that. We called and they said all we can do is wait for a new notice. Also, we called again and was told that our case hasn't even updated since June when they received our response for RFE. Why would they send a interview notice and our case wasn't even shipped to Charleston? I'm lost. Is this normal?

It's not normal, but not unheard of, either.

a lot of interviews are being scheduled and then rescheduled for a variety of visa, AOS, and ROC

being reading a lot lately

seems immigration needs to hire a few people

https://www.us-immigration.com/how-many-immigration-applications-filed-each-year/

Each year, the USCIS receives and processes about 6 million immigration applications from individuals and employers. Most applicants request one of the following: permission to permanently live in the U.S., permission to temporarily work in the U.S. or naturalization as a U.S.

with only 1900 employees paid with out fees only / no federal monies / HOmeloand security budget allowed $3.541,722 for USCIS under their budget

in 2016 USCIS

  • Processed more than 7.9 million citizenship and immigration benefit requests.

with these kinda figures seems USCIS could hire more

and interviews would go as scheduled
