Is there one thing (or more) that you couldn't leave behind in your home country?

The cost of bringing all your treasured items would be more than any pocket can afford. So with lightening the load of "what to not bring" , what couldn't you live without?

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I threw out about 6 big garbage bags of stuff, but two things I absolutely could not leave behind:

1) Childhood family albums

2) This tiny pair of Weeboks that my brother had passed our nana to hand to me on the day of my first wedding in 1993. He was sent to Brunei for army training and couldn't make it, so he got the gift and a really adorable card made (with illustrations that he drew himself) a week beforehand. I wasn't pregnant then, but he wanted to give me something that would really touch my heart and show how much he loved me. It also pained us that he couldn't be at the wedding. When I opened the small shoe box and read the card, I had tears in my eyes.

He couldn't make it to my wedding again last year, but I reminded him of the baby shoes, which made him smile. That little shoe box has gone with me everywhere since then, and it came with me to Indiana last year. :)

I downsized my possesions by about 90 % before I moved here.... I moved with one suitcase, a carry-on suitcase and and a carry on bag.... I figured I could buy most of that stuff once I got here...

I left two 60L sized Rubbermaid Tubs with the rest of my possesions back home... I just basically kept stuff that wasn't replaceable...... my mom has shipped me some stuff from those tubs since I have been here.... I hope to bring them home with me when we go up to Canada for a visit in a few weeks...

When i went to Scotland to see Jahan, he has this fabulous heavy blanket, that he had brought from Saudia 6 yrs back when he first moved to Scotland. Its in such great shape, and so comfy. I insisted it not get left behind. He shipped it recently, and its worth every pound spent!

What did everyone do with their vehicles when they moved?
