Hi everyone 😊

My wife is my petitioner. She wants to sponsor me. She was filing only last 2 years tax return. In 2015 and 2016 her total income not enough for proverty line.. In 2017 her paystubs shows her earning Already 23000 .. Her company gives her employment letter its shows her yearly total income 33800. Her household only 2 ( include me). Does she eligible for sponsor me ? Or we need joint sponsor??

Thanks in advance 😊

Her current income exceeds the poverty guidelines significantly.  She shoukd not need a joint sponsor.  I have not heard of your country requiring 3 years of tax returns above the guideline either.

You will need a joint sponsor. I was in the same position and USCIS takes the last 3 years into consideration. I also had assets of my own that would have bumped us over 10x the poverty level but it's up to their discretion to allow the assets or not.  In my case they did not so they sent RFE for joint sponsor.

The OP is going through consular processing not adjustment of status.

I think in Dhaka embassy, they want what you have in your tax return as well as recent proof of income. I would say, the safest way would be to get a joint sponsor if it is doable. Then you will be less worried about the NVC process. Good luck !!

Joint Sponsor or additional assets in the bank. My friend had the same issue early this year. Although he had sufficient income as per 2016 tax return or recent paystub (not sufficient on 2014 and 2015), US Embassy of Dhaka didn't approved his spouse's  visa until he submitted additional assets information. He called NVC and agent from NVC told him that his income was sufficient but Embassy didn't approve and issued visa until he submitted additional assets document
