How to cancel an EAD application

Hello all,

We just sent the EAD renewal last week (haven't received NOA yet) and today we got a great news: the Green Card is approved and mailed to us (after 6 months of FBI namecheck)!

We want to cancel the EAD application, not sure how to do that.

Please help!!!

i would think you will just have to wait for it to be adjudicated, then once received shred it (that is, unless they catch the gc approval, which i doubt)

Have they already cashed the check???? if they have there is no way to cancel the application... if not you could try stopping the payment... but you may end up paying extra fees for non-payment...

If it was me I would just be happy to have got through namecheck hell and forget about the EAD....

That's a possibility but since they have not cashed the check for the $180 fee I would like to see if I avoid paying the fee when I no longer have to. I could always have my bank cancel the check. Any way to contact them about this? Their customer service number is a nightmare... never before have I seen such a spider's web of press 1 for this, 5 for that, etc etc etc....

You need to look on the USCIS website about checks that dont clear.... they normaly charge you a fee if this happens.... if you stop the payment you may end up having to pay the $180.00 plus a bounced check fee...

You could make an infopass appointment to see how long it is going to be until you get your greencard as it may take a few weeks for thing to get sorted out so you may need that EAD... they should also be able to tell you about canceling your renewal... but they say on their website that the do not offer refunds...
