Hey all,

I had my N-400 Interview today at the San Bernardino, CA office. The interview went well and I had a very friendly officer. I passed the interview but the officer said he couldn’t approve on the spot because he needed to give the pending I-751 to another officer for review. At the start of the interview he told me he wouldn’t need my wife in the interview and that the I-751 wouldn’t be done today and then he did it anyway. At the end of the interview he told my lawyer “im going to try and get him into the oath ceremony for a November”

anyway, after the interview my status updated to “request for initial evidence” on my N-400 application. Anyone familiar with this? What does this mean? I’m hoping a glitch!

After completing her combo interview at the San Bernardino Office, my wife received two email stating her case had been

reopened for reconsideration.  It appears to have been a glitch because the next day, she received an email stating her case

had been approved.  Congratulations and good luck.

So there is no timeframe for that?

What if they don't send you this notice, does it mean your I-751 will be considered separately and not combined?

Is anyone pending or recently approved at the San Antonio office? Looking for recent feedback about filing N400 with 751 pending in that office, like wait time, were the cases combined, was 751 interview required, etc. December 2017 filer.. trying to decide if we should file or wait. I can't figure out a way to search this thread and hoping to skip reading all 90 pages 😎

Just received approval on I-751!

i had my interview for N400 last week, was sent an RFE immediately following my interview for N400 which I still don’t know if it is correct or not but I plan on sending the requested info tomorrow. But I-751 was transferred to the local office a day after interview and approved today. Thank god that part is done. Now to wait on N400.

Does it show online on i751 that you have to send RFE ?

RFE is on the N400 only. I didn’t receive any letter in the mail, but I did receive a letter through my DHS account. So I printed it and I’m responding. I still believe it may be an error on their part as the officer said he would schedule me for an oath but I don’t want to assume an error.

That’s curious ... I don’t see any document even the notice for interview doesn’t show and it doesn’t say “you attended the interview “ so if they ask RFE there is no way I see it

Hey this is an open question for anyone to answer. Does anyone know what does "verifying your identity" entails in the "My USCIS" website. I used this website to file my N-400 application. it was way better than having to deal with a mountain of actual papers I went for my biometrics appointment, they reviewed it like 2 months ago and that's the current status of my case. Like all you I also have a I-751 application pending is going to be 15 months since I filed it.  But I am curious about this verify your identity option. It says you should have your A- Number, passport and application number at hand to do it. Has anyone done it, is it necessary? and if so, what for?

So it doesn't allow you basically to check status in your account? I had smth similiar the other day, but then after several tries to start the page it worked and came back to normal log in.

No. I can check the status as normal. I can even see the documents I have uploaded, notices received and the timeline of the case. I was just curious about what the "verify your identity" option was. It isn't the same as the code they ask when you're  logging in, that's no problem. I am able to log in without any inconveniences.
