My ultimate goal is getting a citizenship. My extension will finish April 2nd, 2019. Do I need to do something another extension? Can I still work?

If that’s the case then go ahead and apply. If your case is still pending while your extension letter is about to expire, you’ll have to schedule an infopass appointment to have a temporary I-551 stamp on your passport. This stamp serves as your new proof of permanent residency for work and travel while your petition is still pending adjudication. Ideally you wanna schedule 30 days prior to it expiring so you don’t risk being denied for requesting too early.

Adjustment of Status From F-1 Visa.

8/14/2014: Mailed AOS package: I-130, I-485, I-765.

10/01/2014: EAD mailed.

10/14/2014: I-485 moved to testing and interview.

1/28/2015: Interview scheduled for 3/4/2015.

1/31/2015: Received interview notice.

Thank you so much for this brief explanation. I will update my case here to lighten others.

Submitted my N400 online on Thursday 9/6 and it was so easy and stress fee (like less than 30 mins) … Got estimated process time of 26 months … hahaha that's a lifetime long wait 😀 … Dallas Centre .

Did anyone file from Dallas and with same processing time? Did it change after you had your fingerprint?

How long before receiving Biometrics appointment?

Was just checking the processing time for 751 at field offices, assuming the reason 751 ended up at a field office is because of the submission of 400 while 751 is pending. The wait time for that is crazy, it could take up to almost 3 years and 7 months??

I got an update this morning that I have been scheduled for biometrics on October 8th.

Is it possible to do a walk-in for the appointment earlier than this date as I plan to travel out of the country on 22nd of this month and possibly not back before then? Can I do a walk-in like 19th or 20th and show them my ticket?

Has anyone done this in Dallas and how does it goes?

I've heard here on VJ that many offices do allow walk-in's with an appointment letter in hand at a date earlier than specified in the letter. But you should know that this is entirely at the discretion of your local office. It's definitely worth a shot in your case assuming you don't have far to travel for the appointment.

Thanks for your response … I will give it a shot once I have the appointment letter as their ASC centre is like 36 mins drive from my place

I walked in a week before my scheduled biometrics. I was out of there in 10 minutes. Good luck.
