Does anyone here had a combo interview for I-751 and N400 from NYC?

I would highly appreciate if anyone can share their story after the interview.

Muchos Gracias! :)

Hi,

I had my interview last Wednesday, June 6. By Friday, I received a text message saying my name had been changed on the case. I assumed that meant they had finally updated my address. Now, a week later, I have received a letter stating "Congratulations!" - I am approved for the permanent green card with restrictions removed. The letter says I will receive a new green card in the next 60 days.
I am still waiting on the n400 decision/approval, which could take up to 4 more months while the officer reviews my travels. I'm happy to get a new green card in the meantime, because it will make it easier to travel (as I do frequently for work) -- using just the stamp in my passport, it always takes extra time at immigration in the US and abroad.
Hope that helps.

Hi everyone,

I finally received my green card after being called in for a second interview.

The card was delivered 2 weeks ago.

Since then, my N400 still stays the same - no updates whatsoever. Is this normal?

Should I contact the USCIS? If so, what is the best way to do so - call the 800 number, or schedule an info pass?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My spouse has been waiting 13 months for Removal of Conditions, filing the I-751 on Sep 28, 2016. His conditional permanent residence extension will expire in about a month and we've been trying to get an Infopass appointment for a I-551 stamp. We've tried about 100 times online, but it always says there are no appointments available. So, he's planning to file a N-400, thinking that might automatically extend his green card extension. However, our attorney says filing a N-400 does not extend your permanent residence. So now we're stuck. Even though USCIS says there are no walk-ins, we're going to try it anyway, since we can't get an appointment online.

Try going on to make your info-pass appoinment early in the morning like at 5 or 6...I used to get 'no appointments available' until the first time I tried early in the morning. Check back every day!

Hope this helps

most airlines will issue credits on tickets if one cancels the trip, which can be used for next trip, they do charge fees, international flight $300, and domestic flight $200

I see. Well you forgot about the price difference of the flight.

The ticket prices went up from the time I was traveling to my new travel time.

so it is $600 for 2 people to change plus $300 in flight cost differential.

It sucks that you lost the $900 but at least you have the comfort of knowing that you will soon be done with

USCIS forever.

If your oath is in the morning, you can go across the street to the passport office if you have pending travel.    If it is in the afternoon you will have to wait for the next day since the passport office closes at 3pm.  We went down the day after Katya’s oath (last Tuesday) and filed an expedited application due to a trip scheduled at the end of June and she received her passport on Friday.  I do understand that you can actually wait there for a passport if necessary for an immediate trip.
