For those of you who have filed electronically for your N400: were you mailed a receipt or did you only receive your receipt in your "online documents" in your account?

In the online documents my husband shows his notices that the application was received and of his Biometrics letter. It says in the header on the web page that these documents are copies of what have been mailed out to him. we have received the hard copy of the Biometrics letter in the mail, but not the notice that they received his application.

You will get both. They mail you the notice and will also be posted online.

It was an emotional one for sure. I really went in to the ceremony thinking I might be rejected, my expectations were so low. When I got there, I filled out the 445 form and proceeded to a long table with at least 20 to 30 officers. She looked at my 445 form and she looked at my question 1 that i checked "YES" since my husband passed 3 days after I passed the interview, I thought they might reject me there, but surprisingly, they told me if i wanted the certificate to say married or widowed, so I was kind of confused, i thought it was up to them. The officer told me it is up to me, i guess probably it was because they did approve my request to expedite the oath without notifying me, but I chose widowed, but the certificate I got later says "married", but I don't really think it matters. I was there for about 3 hours. There were about 4000 new citizens there being sworn in, and I cried so much because I wish my husband were there celebrating with me. I had a bit difficulty finding my car after i got my certificate. I filled out the form to register to vote too. I will always apply for my passport this afternoon. I guess USCIS always has the absolute discretion to approve or deny, and I made a convincing argument trying to get them to approve me on the day of the interview, but i guess they approved our application posthumously. What a journey, I am so glad it is over. It has been a rough ride emotionally too. I am so proud of being an American citizen now. Oh, I also took a screenshot front and back of the 445 form signed by me and stamped by USCIS, my lawyer told me i did everything and there's nothing to worry about now and she congratulated me too.  I hope it will be your turn soon!! Thank you so much for your on going support. Let's hope it will be your turn soon.

Wow! This has been such an emotional rollercoaster for you. I understand how much pain it must have been to lose Stan. I am very happy you are done with USCIS forever and now you can just look back at your journey and take a sigh of relief. I hope you are not going to leave the VJ community anytime soon, I and many people need you here. Thanks for your support too and I am expecting to get the interview notice next 2 to 3 months.

Congrats!

Thank you so much, I totally went in with the expectations of losing my eligibility. Not only I got naturalized, my case was so unusual that the officer that i had not seen before told me she was aware of the sad situation surrounding my case and she offered her condolences. The officer could not be nicer. So I guess my packet to request to expedite the oath ceremony was probably the reason I got approved despite the law. Anyway, I am so happy and relieved, and I wish my husband were there with me, but I knew his spirit was there with me when i was being sworn in. I hope you will get your turn soon! Good luck and thanks for all your support.

Sure, i will continue to contribute what I know about immigration to help, this is a support group too. Immigration is the US is tough, it requires knowledge and info from each other so we can make the best decision to get to the ultimate goal of citizenship. Your interview notice is looming, it should come pretty soon, sometimes it arrives when you are least expected. Thank you for the kind words, keep us posted too.

I see, do you have the USPS informed deliver app? It will notify you the mail coming to your mailbox. You can file non-delivery of notice at USCIS website.

Poop, uploaded the app and they only provide delivery for items in the last 7 days. So, nothing... and unfortunately the Biometrics letter must have come it over a week ago so that doesn't show up and give us a comparison. I guess we will file A non-delivery. Thanks for the information!

Doggone it! It has to be over 30 days late before I can send a non delivery notice. You would have thought that it would have arrived in the mail at the same time as the Biometrics since they were both generated on the same day According to online.
