I have an interview on Tuesday. I called USCIS to check where is my pending I-751 and was told that it’s not at my local office where the N400 interview will take place but at another service center (there was transfer from SRC to NBC in July). Was anyone in the same situation and still ended up having combo interview? I am assuming I will have N400 only. Seems like the officer won’t be able to do combo interview and/or approve I-751 without having it in hand, right? (Not sure if they possibly have our files online or it it’s all on paper if that makes sense).

Hey look at my post above. I was in same situation and they did combo. If its at NBC it will most likely be a combo bring your spouse. Over the phone they said they the file its not at local office but it was and status never updated.

Best of luck.

Hello guys!

So my journey is finally over! Became citizen yesterday!

I had my I-751 pending with N-400.
My I-751 was transferred twice, and since July 1st it was at NBC center. About to weeks ago I called uscis and spoke with a tier two officer asking if it will be a combo interview and I was told no! He saod that most likely I will be send home because my I-751 is pending and it’s in NBC and not at my local office. And he can’t do anything about it. Thank god I took my spouse. When they called my name. He asked if I was with anyone I said yea my spouse is here. Have them come in because I need do conduct I-751 first in order to do n-400. So he asked few questions like how we met, where we work and who proposed. Looked at pics took more evidence and that was it. About 5-10min. Then I was alone, answers 6 questions correct in a row and I passed. By the way don’t stress the questions are literally the same from the book they give you when you go for biometrics so study that don’t stress yourself with other websites or apps or whatever you are using. After that I was told to wait as the oath ceremony in jersey is the same day.

I asked the officer also why the status never updated that my case was transferred to local office he wasn’t sure but he had all the files he needed.

I wish everyone on here luck luck luck please don’t stress because it’s not worth it. Everything will turn out right!

Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your story. Proof that VJ forums have more information that some tier 2 phone officers (although to be fair some can be very helpful).

Just passed my N-400/I-751 interview.

Charleston, SC
July 24, 2019 applied online
Aug 8, 2019 biometrics
Interview scheduled 23 September, 2019
Interview November 12, 2019
Oath November 21, 2019

Had pending I-751, the officer conducted first N-400 interview and then approved my I-751, my husband was with me but was left in the waiting area.
N-400 I was asked few questions from the N400 (yes/no questions). Then asked me 6 civic questions.

1. Who does a U.S. Senator represent?
2. Who vetoes bills?
3. What is the highest court in the United States?
4. What is the capital of your state?
5. Why did the colonists fight the British?
6. 81. Who did the United States fight in World

War II?

Reading:

“Where is the White House?”

Writing:

“The White House is in Washington, D.C.”

He then told me my application was recommended for approval.

Since I had my I-751 pending he printed out two pages and wrote down notes. First he said he had looked up some things before I came for my interview so he knows our marriage is not a fraud. He just wrote down that my husband and I owe our house, that we have kids, what my husband does for living and told me I was approved. Didn’t want to talk to my husband, didn’t want to see any documents. He had my entire file in front of him.

After I left within 30 minutes I got e-mail from USCIS worker letting me know I had my oath scheduled for next week and sent me a copy in my e-mail so I can print it if I don’t get mail in time.

Good luck!

Hi everyone, my name's Ed , and I'm new user in this forum, but I've reading your posts for a while...

on November 30th the window to apply for my citizenship opens, although my I-751 is still pending...

I-751 received on Jan 30th, 2019... I did my biometrics on February, since then I didn't have any update on my case... and it shows error when checking on the website...

I'd really like to file N-400 early on December in order to save time. I will file ONLINE.

for those ones who filed online, how or where do you send the documents required? THAT'S MY BIG CONCERNED

Thanks beforehand, and keep warm (if you live in the Northeast)

You don't need to send the documents anywhere, you just upload it in online.

Hi, and sending you some sun from LA :) When applying online, all you have to do is to prepare all required documents on your computer in PDF or JPG, and upload them as the application goes step by step. Once you open the USCIS online account and you start your N400 application, you can have it for 30 days, before you have to pay and submit. it is very easy. Good luck!
