That is what I thought as well. Thank you for confirming it!

Not necessarily true. The more you send in, the better. Nobody knows for sure whether affidavits are a waste of time, there is no set rules for that. They certainly would not hurt. I submitted mine with photo IDs. I was naturalized last May, 751 approved last April.

I did send affidavits in with my RFE response, I think they requested it in the RFE letter. I had a different situation though. We had moved multiple times since we applied for ROC and I was a lot less knowledgeable regarding what documents are considered evidence of living together and had apparently sent inadequate and unsatisfactory evidence. As I had already moved from those locations, I wasn't able to obtain utility bills and such when they sent the RFE (a whooping 18 month later) Due to lack of the other evidences, affidavits served as an alternative evidence that we lived together as a couple in those residences. I received an interview letter within a month of sending in the RFE response.

Your list is more than adequate IMO. That's what I sent with my RFE, more or less. I don't think you'll need affidavits to supplement your packet.

Good luck with your process. :)

In my opinion, there is no such a thing as "too much evidence". I would overwhelm USCIS with tons of evidence. Good luck.

It definitely has a lot to do with the current administration's stance on immigration. I am grateful I was naturalized last May, but my heart goes out to those of you that are still pending. The better days are coming, just a matter of time.

Not really sure that cause and effect is accurate.  Processing times change all the time, heck the ROC quagmire started before the current administration, so who really knows the actual cause(s).

It was already slowish prior to the current administration, but 751 processing time was kind of within the normal range(10 to 12 months)but after Trump took office, everything started to slow down even further(12 to nearly 24 months in general). You really think it absolutely has nothing to do with current administration's stance on immigration? It does matter who controls the White House, but further discussion about this will be perceived as "political discussion". Politics do effect immigration. It is in fact accurate because the numbers reported speak for themselves, but you can always have your own interpretation due to your own political opinion/prefrence, but the long processing time is real, and many applicants have been living it. I did, and many of 2016 applicants felt it too, but it doesn't really matter because there is nothing much anyone can do since federal government has so much power over immigration, and I think most people will agree it has gotten more difficult under the current administration, and unfortunately there is nothing any applicant can do about it.

Just had my combo interview. Only had the interview notice for N-400 (submitted Feb 2019) but went into the interview expecting both. Luckily it was a combo. This was the Fort Smith AR office.

I had my partner with me and the officer went through the details of the pending I-751 (pending since Feb 2018) first. She asked basic questions and asked us to verify identities. Got done this in less than 10 mins.

Then age asked my partner to step out and started with the N-400 interview. She dived right into the civics test. I was asked the following:

1. Name a native American tribe.

2. Who lived in the US before Europeans arrived.

3. How many US senators are there?

4. When do we vote for President?

5. If President or VP can't be President, who becomes President?

6. Who was President during World War 2?

After that the English test went smoothly. And then after the run down checklist of questions, she said she is recommending me for approval.

In my case, I have requested for a name change and at the interview asked how long it would take for a judicial ceremony. She said it should be done by October. Hopefully that is the case.

I hope everyone else on here has a smooth interview. Good luck!

Have you checked the documents tab on your USCIS account?
