After filing N-400 did they move your I-751 to a different jurisdiction? Just wondering if the update on I-751 is in relation to me submitting my N-400 or if it’s just one of those few who got their case transfered. Thanks!

My I751 did get transferred from CSC to NBC shortly after filing N400 so I'm thinking they're preparing both cases to be interviewed at the same time. It was the first movement in my I751 case for over a year and it gave me so much excitement... it was very sad.

I filed in September and got letter in May they are reusing my fingerprints but nothing before then or after until I submitted N400. I am reading mixed feedback that some had I-751 moved after filing N400 and some didn’t. I have seen people getting I-751 transfered without filing for n400. I guess i will have to wait and see what happens.

beyond annoying ... my wife has three job offers that we can't decide about because we don't wanna change states in this situation. At the same time, we don't know when this game is gonna be over. I don't understand the politics behind this.

Wow literally life-changing decisions are being taken out of your control! Is it possible to have her accept her job and move there by herself temporarily while you wait for the letter at your current place? I do see how both of you moving away and changing your address this late in the game can potentially delay things.

Yeah, that's what we're thinking we gonna do but there are lots of lots of complications ... by letter you mean interview letter? or oath letter?

Hello guys!

We just got back from the combo I-751/N-400 interview at the Houston field office. It was such a pleasant experience! The FO already had my I-751 as well as N-400 applications on her desk when she walked us to her office. She then briefly went thru the process of conducting a combo interview: I-751 first and N-400 after. I had the option to ask my husband out and do the N-400, but I told her it was fine if he was in the room.

The FO then ask my husband for my full name, DOB, and phone number. Lol, my poor husband didnt remember my phone number, but the FO was ok with that lol. Then we just talked about random stuff, my new job, and the house we are in the process of buying. I asked if she would like new evidence from us, but she said no, because what we sent before was enough.

N-400 interview was followed, and it was as easy as it could be. She stopped at the 6th question I answered correctly and got me to read and write a sentense. Also asked me all those yes/no questions you see in the N-400 form.

She said she couldnt make the decision for I-751 yet because she had to log in to the system at CSC, which took her a bit longer than the 25 mins we had, but I should expect to see the update before end of the day. She also gave me the oath ceremony instruction. Here in Houston, it is conducted once a month. Since I missed the July one, the next session will be on August 21st.

While I was chatting with her, I asked her if there were a lot of combo cases like mine. She said she saw at least one combo case a week, she had 3 this week, and she said if the law allowed you to file, file it. It would save you some time (in my case, about 7 months)

Phewww.... That was it. I got a status update on my N-400 case "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled" at 4:20pm and just now, I-751 new status "New Card is being produced." Everything from the start (I-485) to this day (I-751/N-400 combo) was good. Never had any problem exept for the long wait at the Houston office. The two FOs we interviewed with were professional, knowledgeable, and had great sense of humor. We felt no pressure and actually enjoyed talking to them.

Good luck to all of you on this citizenship journey. Mine ended today!

Go for N-400 interview with your spouse and take latest documents which you believe you will add to I-751.  IO office might take N-400 interview and might approve I-751 at the background, but sure to ask at the end of N-400 interview whether local office or IO receives your I-751 file.

If he conducts joint interview, you are all set.  In my case, only N-400 interview and at the end when I asked about I-751 , IO asked, is your spouse with you.  I said yes.  He told me that he will review my I-751 file.  Interview was June 28, 2019, both I-751 and N-400 were approved on July 3, 2019.  Oath July 15, 2019.

what other documents did u take to add to i 751file

I took the latest bank statements ( last three months) ,  2018 tax transcript, latest medical card, latest payment of car insurance.    But, IO did not ask for any documents during N-400 interview and did not see any original either.

You will be okay, they will send both I-751 and N-400 file together to your local office.  Go with spouse for N-400 interview.  In my case, I never received any transfer notice and no movement of I-751, but local office received it with N-400 ( interview June 28) and both are approved on July 3, 2019, Oath July 15

No, just take few  updated documents related to financial intermingling and chances are IO will not ask to see any.  What did you attached with your N-400 form as additional documents?

Just take latest 3 months of bank statements and 2018 tax transcript.  I-751 is to prove genuine marriage and N-400 with more updated documents  indirectly proves that your have all the intention to be together.  So relax and you will be fine.  N-400  in my opinion is the most easy stage of the long immigration journey, if your records are clean and you answer everything honestly.
