My experience with the same

thing: I sent an email from MyUSCIS account inbox and they called me after two days. The answer: your N400 and I751 will MOST LIKELY be together at the day of N400 interview.

it didn’t happen. My officer who interviewed me requested my I751 from CSC, but no one responded. So I had interview , passed it, but not approved.

Now when I have I751 approved and card being sent to the address, I wonder when they will give me Oath. Cos my N400 status is still “we scheduled your interview” from April.

@Nayda thank you for sharing! I’m surprised that even they told you most likely it will be a combo interview but still didn’t happen. Sorry to hear that. How did you find out the IO has requested your I751 but no one responded, did IO tell you during the N400 interview? Did you have to do another interview for I751 before it’s approved?

Hopefully you will hear from them soon on the oath date.

At this stage, if you are out of your processing time, you can submit an inquiry.  L2 officer will provide  you a generic answer, so no point wasting time .    Hope for the best.  If your interview IO is a good one, he will talk about i-751 or you need to mention after N-400 interview that my I-751 is pending.  Go with spouse for interview.

Thanks @dilip

Thanks @dilip

My IO officer was not friendly and he did only N-400 interview and at the end I said, my I-751 is pending, he said he knows and he will review it. He only asked is your spouse with you and I said yes.  That's it ( may be that was my I-751 interview) , That time I realized that he has my I-751.

Also on  his table  there is only one file  and he is all the time with his computer during my N-400 interview, but looking at the volume of the file, I assumed that it is mine.

@dilip thank you for sharing your experience. So did you get both your I751 and N400 approved right after that interview?

I wrote a LONG post about everything, but even I can’t find it now🤣

I had the nicest officer at the interview (he looked intimidating tho). When he saw my husband, told us “only you”, so right there I assumed he didn’t have I751. He told me that he requested it from CSC, but he didn’t get a reply and he was accredited to approve both (he said only 3 officers in that field office - San Bernardino, CA). The N400 was done quickly. Then I waited for a month, nothing happened. I wrote multiple emails and I called all tier 1 and 2, only answer was “your i751 is within processing time”.

I scheduled infopass for the stamp in my passport (I am traveling) and officer who stamped my passport was even nicer than first one. He checked my I751 in the system and told me “Your case was picked up as a part of the project in CSC”. He told me how there was a record that my case was requested two times to be delivered to the field office, but nobody never replied! He called that project leader in front of us, nobody answered the phone. He sent an email also.

After that I, again, wrote multiple emails and called several time tier 2, nothing.

They are very uncoordinated! (I would never thought it could happen in some developed country).

ps: I didn’t have I751 interview, I just saw approved a couple days ago. That officer told me it is kinda a requirement for them to have people interviewed for I751, if not (I guess if the case is clear) they put a waiver.

They should have done with  your N-400 interview , but USCIS has no co-inherent policy and that is the problem.   You know that I am almost done.  My oath is July 15. 2019.

I wrote email from “MyUSCIS” account, asking about my N400, as I passed that interview , but now when my I751 was approved, what will happen to my N400.

They replied in the same day (!!!):

USCIS systems indicate that you appeared for your naturalization interview on May 09, 2019. Examination of your N-400 application shows that additional information, documents or forms are needed before your application can be acted upon.

On May 09, 2019, USCIS issued you a Notice of Continuance. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response.”

I didn’t receive any notice, except Naturalization Interview Results N-652.

Then they also wrote:

After you log in to your USCIS online filing system account, access the Home Tab to find the "Documents" field to view or print your official Notice of Continuance notice from USCIS.

We encourage you to respond to the Notice of Continuance by the response deadline. Failure to respond to the Notice of Continuance by the response deadline may result in the denial of your application.”

I don’t have this under Documents, the last is about scheduled interview.

Does anybody has any idea what this is?

Hey guys

I just logged into my online USCIS account and noticed my estimated waiting time for my N400 has been reduced to 4 days (from 5 month yesterday)! And my case completion time has changed to Sep 2019 ... Do you know if I am scheduled for an interview in 4 days?! or does that mean I will be knowing interview date in 4 days? Does anyone have any similar experience?

Apologies if this question has been asked before. I'm an LPR, married to a US citizen and am waiting on my I-751 to be approved (CSC, filed Sept 2018). I'm eligible - and had planned - to file for citizenship next month, based on the 3 year rule, but reading through some of the recent pages in this thread have made me unsure if it's 'better' to wait for the I-751 to be approved and then file for citizenship, or simply apply as soon as possible and hope that USCIS manages to pull of the logistics required for concurrent adjudication of both petitions?

My local office has a 10-13 month processing time on N-400 petitions. CSC is notoriously slow with its I-751 cases (my estimated wait time at filing was 20 months). Those numbers make me think there won't be much harm in applying as soon as possible, given that my local office probably won't pick up the case before the I-751 is approved anyway.

Any experiences or opinions on this most appreciated.

Bariki for what it’s worth I think it’s better if you wait. My ROC took 11 months. They’re picking up the speed on ROCs. As you can see from others experience sometimes the service centers aren’t even talking to one another. I predict you’ll get yours in 2-3 months. Why not wait?

Hi iceclub. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

The USCIS processing estimate for my I-751 is 20 months. CSC, where my case is, has a huge case backlog - your case was processed in Nebraska, which tends to do better. That’d put me course for approval mid-2020 (though VJ’s estimate based on member experiences says I can expect approval by Dec 2019. That’d be super. That said, I only completed my biometrics last week, 9 months after filing. 2-3 months more seems.. optimistic.

Yeah, the poor communication between service centers and fields offices (for concurrent adjudication) is a worry. The 10-13 month processing time for N-400 at my local field office is another factor. I’d be looking at citizenship sometime in 2021. I’d rather like to have a say in the 2020 election. It’s also, of course, tempting to get this one final petition done and dusted as quickly as possible. Not dealing with USCIS ever again is a strong motivation.

Those are my reasons for wanting to file sooner and not wait. But, if it will cause an administrative nightmare, screwed up interviews and further confusion at USCIS? Those would be strong reasons against.
