I had my interview today in Fort Myers, FL. Took me 11 months since I applied.

Thankfully it was a combo interview as I was hoping for. Anyways, the officer asked me questions regarding my I-751 first asked if I want to add any more new evidences, new tax transcripts, I gave her lots of new things we had. She said she saw my husband with me and won't question him as everything looked great and she wants to approve it.... But.... As soon as she proceeded to approve, the data base for I-751 stuck and would not work:( So at that point she said we should start with N-400 and then see if it works after. I passed the test, everything went smooth and easy. She approved me and congratulated with passing my interview. Then she  went back to the I-751 tried again, but of course not with my luck... It still didn't work. So the officer said she should fix the approval by tommorow afternoon and after that they mail me my Oath date....

Kinda happy and relieved that I'm done, but upset that It couldn't solve today cuz I could have my Oath already this Thursday.

They provide ceremonies twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, and people get them either same week or the next one after they passed the test.

The only thing I'm just afraid they will put my case aside and forget abt me......

Anyway hope I will hear any news till the end of this week regarding my date.

This morning I got a call from my local office, the officer who interviewed me on Tuesday forgot to get my signature on one of the forms so she asked if I can come over as soon as possible... Luckily I live 40 minutes away from them. So I went there signed the Oath notice letter and she gave me an invitation for Tuesday the 11th for the ceremony. ROC was approved today also.

Good luck to everyone!

Juts got back from my combo I-751 and N-400 interview, the interview went really well.

The only "tense" questions that sparked discussions were from the N-400 related to military service, weapons training and having taken a life; as I had served overseas in a foreign military.

The officer did allow my wife to be present through both interviews, however told her that she may not speak during the N-400 portion; cracked the joke that its the quietest she'll ever be for 30 minutes 😉

He was able to approve my I-751 and conditionally approve my N-400; he let me know that due to my military service and some of the questions its affects my approval would require a post decision approval.

By the time I got home, I received multiple emails from the portals  - the final one started that my post-decision approval had been approved and that my ceremony has been scheduled with the letter containing the date and time on the way.

Thanks all for the support, it has been a journey.

Best of luck to all.

Hey guys,
My I-751 receipt date is November 9, 2017. When I check USCIS processing times, it seems that the current receipt date for a case inquiry (for California Service Center) is November 17, 2017. When I try to submit a service request for the case outside normal processing time, it returns the message that my case is within normal processing time ... Has anybody experienced this? Do you know what's the reason?

Yes, same here. I’m october 30th, 2017 filer in Vermont. I’m a month over the current processing time in Vermont, but tried several time to submit an inquiry and it always says that I’m within processing time. Don’t know why. Maybe because my case is in local office now, so it’s not on Vermont’s timeline anymore.

Hubby and I are considering applying for N400 now.  We are in the late stages (we hope) of our I-751, which we filed in March 2018 and just received a biometrics appointment for that application for next week, even though they previously waived it.

Our logic is that we do not plan any travel outside of the US for the foreseeable future. Is there any reason NOT to apply for N400 now? I realize that we may be really close to approval, but nothing is a given and it's entirely possible that we may end up waiting for quite some time before they get around to processing our I-751.

Will this severely delay the N400 application? I'm a little unclear about whether the reluctance to file for naturalization with ROC pending is a delay in ROC, a delay on N400 or both.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would apply for 400 now if I were you. I was in the same situation, my 400 was approved a month later after my 751 was approved. However, my husband passed away 3 days after my 400 interview. If my husband were around and healthy, they would have probably done a joint interview. I had to submit my dear husband's death certificate when it became available and requested USCIS to convert the joint 751 to a widower waiver application, sadly and in a bittersweet situation, my husband's passing might have expedited my 751 and subsequently USCIS approved my 400 and sent me a ceremony notification. However, with the unprecedented long processing time for 751 and so many accounts of the dual pending applicants here. I would apply for 400 right away. Good luck.

Hi, I didn't know it until I made an online inquiry regarding my I-751 and explained my situation that I got an interview scheduled only for N-400. They responded within a week or so via email and it stated that both of my cases were combined and my I-751 will be adjudicated at the same time. I know some offices don't do that at the same time. I would suggest you do the same and also check out a thread if you can find any where people share their experiences from your office!

Good luck!
