- Filed I751 in Dec 2017, N400 in Jan 2019.

- I had an interview for N400 after 3,5 months after the biometrics. Great officer, only me at the interview. He didn’t have my I751 documents, although he requested them from CSC. My case is very easy and straightforward (married, evidence, one child), and he asked me only essential about case, he didn’t go into details for N400. So I passed it, but it couldn’t have been approved without I751.

Then he promised he will try to get it during the following week, which hadn’t happened. I am waiting again.

- I called USCIS several times, never got the chance to got connected to Tier 2. I wrote several messages, never got the real response except “I751 is within processing time”, and “N400 interview is done, if you get approved, you will get the information about Oath”.

- It is very frustrating because someone is lazy and unorganized, we have to suffer and it IS a big deal when you are about to get American citizenship. Basically, they don’t follow the Constitution 😅

Hello

I have an update on my status.

 - 751, submitted oct 23 2017, last update jan 4 2019, transferred from csc to vsc

- n400, Submitted January 3 2019, Today's my interview at 8am

My husband came with me hoping it would be a combo interview. When the officer called us, he asked who's with me. I told him my husband. He said "ow, your 751 is still pending? They usually leave give me your documents but its not here"

So we didnt do the 751 today but only the 400. Civics test done and maybe 20-30 yes or no questions.

He said he wont be able to approve my application until he gets my 751 docs from vermont.

So the waiting game continues!

Yeah, the only time when they responded was over the phone saying “most likely it would be approved together” , but the documents were not there. So, it tells us that they really don’t know/care about it, they just give any satisfactory answer within their basic responsibilities.

Very unprofessional.

That's so strange because when I went to the infopass appointment the officer couldn't even tell me who's assigned to my case. I asked if that's the same IO who interviewed me for N-400 and she said she can't see such information...

My local office is Philly. I don't think they are very backlogged at least I've got my interview pretty fast.

I applied n400 in nov2018/i-751 Oct 2017... No interview notice. Nothing.

Case was received at local office...

Hello! I'm June 2017 filler and had my N-400 interview in February 2019. Not sure if it was a combo or not (IO asked for evidence and relationship related questions but didn't call my husband in)...anyway, he didn't approve neither N-400 nor I-751 and I didn't hear anything back since then... made a bunch of calls, service requests, and info pass apt. All they can tell my both petitions are pending :( I had to go and get already second stamp in my passport ...so tired of this bs. Yesterday I wrote a letter to my congressman, not sure if that will help though.

My I-751 is pending for 23 months now (no RFE), N-400 is more than 90 days passed after the interview (I heard they have to make a decision within 120 days but not sure if this applied to my case).

Any other advice about what else can be done? Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you. Filed ROC Feb 2017 and N400 Feb 2018. Had my citizenship interview Feb.11th of this year and passed. (she checked the passed box) and asked some additional documents for my ROc which i provided the same day. Since then nothing.. im in a limbo.

my 120 day will be June 11th. hopefully we will hear positive updates soon.

Did you try to receive any information about why it takes so long? See, I'm not sure if 120 days rule applies to the situation when I-751 is pending...and I truly hope that my case is not just dusting on someone's desk like in one of the previous messages :(

My I-751 ( July 2017 ) and N-400 ( August – 2018) both are pending. Most likely interview will be combo. At the time of arrival in US, My age is 31. My question is:

Is any proof required for Selective Service registration as my first arrival in US is at age 31 ?

Damn, exactly the same! The last time they managed to write the whole paragraph which was still basically stating the same thing:

Based on your inquiry, we have reviewed the status of your case and found that it remains under active examination. This office acknowledges the completion of your case being outside normal processing times and realizes the inconvenience it may cause. The delay has been necessary in order to ensure the thorough processing of your case and provide you with the best possible service. USCIS will notify you as soon as possible if any further information is needed from you or when a decision has been made. We hope this information is helpful to you.

I so much wonder what's going on :(

Hubby and I are in a similar boat. ROC filed Feb 2017. N400 filed March 2018. Combo Interview March 5th 2019. The IO said he was approving both. A week later we got his approval letter for ROC and new 10 year GC a couple days later we got a RFE for more relationship evidence for N400 ; doesn't make much sense when they approved his ROC. We submitted all evidence on uscis website on March 15th. No update since then.

BTW we did bring all relationship evidence to interview but IO didn't take any of it.

Just downloaded my N400 interview letter and it is scheduled for July 09, it doesn't mention anything about a combo interview, it is just one page. My I751 it's been pending for 23 months now and it was transferred to my local office on December 2018, I made a case inquiry and they replied saying they were going to adjudicate both cases.

Will they do a combo interview even if the letter does not mention it?

Also we have nobody to take care of our kids, can we take them with us? They are 2.5 years old and 7 months old.

Oh we don't have any bills or anything together as when I came here my husband already had the house and all the services, we do have car insurance and health insurance together, he opened me a checking account went I can't here cuz he didn't want to share his bank account until I change my last name to his cause right now I have 3 last names his being the last one lol, very immature I know. He does transfer money to my account monthly so I can pay my credit card cause I do not work.
