You may find these sites helpful for typical ROC interview questions and reasons why some cases are called for interview. Good luck!

I just called in USCIS and I was told that the system has a problem they're not able to view my case details. Therefore, I need to give them a call back next week or they'll notify me when my case status changes. I always get frustrated when I talk to them.

You can always check your case status online too. I prefer it actually. USCIS puts you on hold forever 😅

Here's the link where you can check your status online.

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus

You can also set up an account and set up notifications. That way, if anything changes or updates, you'll get a text and/or email, depending what settings you set.

To N400 online filers who were non-immigrants in USA before age of 26:

How did you tackle the question about registering for Selective Service in the online N400 form ?

I had been on F1 visas throughout until I hit 26 but the online form is asking me to provide a letter from Selective Service people.

I answered 'No' to the question. F1 students are non-immigrants, and as such are exempt from registering for the Selective Service. In fact in N400 application form , page 16 it says

Are you a male who lived in the United States at any time between your 18th and 26th birthdays? (This does not include living in the United States as a lawful nonimmigrant.)

They put in the form to provide a letter from selective service just in case if it is applicable to you , if not , you don't have to do anything.

By the way my situation is similar to yours ...I did not have any issues and next month i have my oath ceremony.

Good luck!

I have I 751 interview coming up(and possible combo) and I know they will ask for this year's tax return.

Does it matter if the tax has been filed as Married filled Separately or It looks better if its married filled jointly.

Thanks

For my understanding, in order to get approved, you must prove that the marriage is bona fide. You’ll need to submit several documents as evidence of your genuine marriage, and tax documents are critical. USCIS will review your tax returns (for any relevant years) to confirm that they were filed jointly. Submitting jointly filed tax returns is essential evidence to be included with the I-751 petition.

I just got my combo interview yesterday, it went well.

He asked my wife to leave for the N-400 part of the interview he asked me questions for 2 min then I did the test.
After that said that my I-751 will be approved but he had to check with his supervisor for final approval on the N-400. He said everything is good it is just because he could not access a specific file on his computer.

Last night I saw that my Green Card was approved but still nothing for the Citizenship, so I am not sure if I am going to receive it before the oath notice or if it is one of their glitch.

Anyway that was my experience good luck to everyone

You most likely won't recieve your actual green card, you will just get a notification of the time and date of your citizenship ceremony, congratulations.

Hi,

Im glad your interview went well. Im hoping mine will go as smoothly. I was wondering about the combo interview, I have a pending i-751 as well but my interview notice only contained info for my N-400 interview with no mention of I-751. Is that how yours was as well?

Thanks in advance.
