I applied for i751 last January 2018. This year on January I applied for N400. Today I received an approval letter in the mail for my i751 case. Status never changed on any of the USCIS  website, so it was a surprise. Now just waiting for green card and for N400 interview, to be done with this stressful process. Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations! Diffenatly we'll need some luck lol. We filed I751 7 months before you (CSC), applied N400 September 2018 and still waiting for both:)

Thank you! Oh wow 😮. That’s a long time! I’m sorry you haven’t heard anything! Have you called USCIS? I would call them just to check ... hopefully you will hear good news soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thank you! Yes California moved our case to NBC last Dec, kind of reported to their bosses they are in time frame. we got notification right the day of estimate time frame for CSC, a little cheaters :))) banch of cases was moved, so that allowed CA moving to 2018 filers cases. But citizenship is our goal, so we are not really worrying about GC, just tired to wait☺ you know that feeling when your line dead stop in a traffic while everybody around are moving?😂

I-751s in CSC have been backed up for a long time now. If you file N400 while it's still pending they will transfer your case out of California through NBC and to your local field office where your N400 is sitting. Yes this will delay the adjudication of your I-751 as they will combine it with N400 and give you a combo interview.

Only drawback is you don't have a valid GC for a while and will need to get a I-551 stamp in your passport if you decide you want to travel or apply for new job.

Yes, but as you can see in Liz's case it's not only way. She has applied for N400 and after this in a few months got her green card, and she applied for I751 7 months later then me.

Oh ok. At least there has been some movement! Don’t lose hope! I agree! The waiting is exhausting, and seeing others who filed later  getting approved is nerve wracking, but you will get it hopefully really soon 🤞🏼

Indeed. My case was never transferred nor I got any notification or change on any of their websites. The approval letter is from the CSC where I sent my package January 2018.  The old case tracker website still says “uscis cannot provide any information at this time” and in the new website still says “case was received.” Who knows how USCIS handles their cases. It is very confusing and frustrating.

Thank you! Yes, we're hoping to be done in 2-4 months. One more time congratulations to you!🌸🌸🌸

Not sure, I will be in this discussion board.  VSC EAC18061XXX, field Nov 2017, status still April 9, 2018 local office.  No RFE, no transfer.  No movement. All cases around me are approved.  Filed N-400 in Nov 2018.

Right there with u..

I-751 VSC EAC18019XXX filed Oct 2017

Status: April 9, 2018 at local office

N400 filed Dec 2018

Processing times for i-751 now says they on August but I'm wondering if anyone on the same boat tried calling USCIS regardless to see what's up. I haven't got no transfers nor rfes.

I know they hate when you inquire about cases within processing time window but they the ones pushing that goal post further and further. I remember back in September, they were approving June cases. Today we are in March, which is 6 months later counting from Sept. In 6 months they only moved from June to August. It's barely a 2 months of progress within a half year window.

How long does it take to realize that you are short staffed? And to act on it?

Are more people marrying now than ever?

Do we have any stats over the years corroborating a 751 spike during Trump's administration?

95-99% of applications end up getting approved anyway. It's not like USCIS were cutting corners before and now all of sudden they started taking their jobs recently? It doesn't make sense that the slow down is purely coincidental ...Im starting to feel like it's a deterrent scheme. Have we had any public statement from USCIS expressing concerns over application processing delays and why? If there were a lot of fake applications caught, I'd understand the delays with extra screening and vetoing but I haven't seen any evidence of that. Who else thinks that this is a tactic?

Meeting people online is now more common then it was say back in the 90s. So yes there will be more and more people marrying people from out of the country and navigating the immigration process.

The lawyer we used said I-751 processing had slowed because of the trump administration. They are putting pressure on the adjudicators to exercise more scrutiny on applications/petitions along with the trump administration has pressured USCIS to require more people to interview than before on phases of immigration that used to be able to waive an interview like AOS now require one. This puts extra workload on USCIS staff so everything else in the system gets delayed and gunked up.

Once your combined case gets transferred to NBC, how much time does it take to get the interview date?

Usually it depends on how busy or slow your local office is. For big cities like Houston, TX or LA, CA it could take a year or so, but those small ones could take just a few months. Btw, check the current processing times for N-400 on USCIS: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
